Nearly a whole year. I honestly can’t believe I’m even writing that.

This photo might look simple to everyone else… Zane walking down the street, holding our boys’ hands but to us, it means absolutely everything.

After his accident, there were so many unknowns. So many hard days, appointments, setbacks, tiny wins and moments where we just had to take life one day at a time. There were times when getting to this point wasn’t even a guarantee.

And now here he is. On his feet. Walking beside our boys. Holding their hands. Doing the ordinary things that suddenly don’t feel ordinary at all ❤️

It’s easy to forget how far you’ve come when you’re living it every day, but moments like this stop me in my tracks. I’m so incredibly proud of Zane and the strength, determination and resilience he’s shown over this past year. Boy it’s been a tough one, on us both but I’m so beyond proud of us and how far our little family has come ✨

We’re a long way away still and life will never be how it was for Zane, but goodness, we’ve come a long way.
There is still more surgery to come, more unknown and a long road ahead with years of recovery but the main thing is, this is a huge “STEP” in the right direction 😭🤍
He doesn’t last very long on his feet but hey, at least he’s got them!
