Are you going through a wilderness season in your life right now? Are you feeling discontent? You’re not alone. I’ve been there too. Sometimes you need to look around and see what God has provided instead of what he hasn’t.

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19

Six months ago, our family packed up our lives and headed west to serve at a new church. To us New Mexico was an unknown and unfamiliar place in so many ways.

Now, the beautiful sunsets, endless skies, and mountain views are starting to feel like home. This new ministry opportunity has been challenging, but it’s also been filled with countless reminders of God’s faithfulness.

I’m grateful to God for every step of this journey, both the steps that felt sure and the ones that seemed precarious.

The Land of Enchantment is truly enchanting.

One of the best ways you can support your pastor’s wife is by praying for her. Here are a few ways to pray:

That her relationship with Christ would be her greatest source of strength.

That God would give her wisdom as she supports her husband and his ministry.

That she would have genuine, trustworthy friendships.

That she would be protected from discouragement and criticism.

That she would experience peace in her daily life.

That God would bless her unique gifts and ministry, and she would find joy in her calling.

That she would have time to rest and be refreshed.

That God would bless and strengthen her marriage.

That her children would know and follow Christ and grow in their faith.

What would you add?

When you’re an introvert but you’re also a pastor’s wife so you’re forced to extrovert.

God blessed me by allowing me to call some of the most unique places in the U.S. home. The landscapes in this country are so diverse. The people and cultures are equally diverse. There is no other place on earth like this country where freedom is so valued. And that allows us to live together, despite all our differences. Happy 250th America the Beautiful!

It was a swampy, steamy hike along the Tennessee River. At least there weren’t any snakes.
