Up next: we took the train from Guangzhou to JunAn’s hometown, Changsha (it’d be sick if America would get on the high speed train game, among other things amirite!)

These days in Changsha were the highlight of the whole trip for me. I had THE best time walking and wandering, getting the full tour, eating/drinking everything in sight, seeing where JunAn grew up, etc and the best part of all was meeting his parents!!! It was hotter than a kettle in hell the ~3 days we were there but that didn’t stop us from walking like 25 miles a day. And yet! I feel like I barely scratched the surface of exploring lively, homey, zesty Changsha 🇨🇳 taken in Changsha by @heybails1

Visiting China with JunAn is something I have been MANIFESTING since 2018 and I’m still in disbelief (!!) that the universe (cc: @demoduckvideo) plopped this incredible opportunity in my lap. It was hands-down the glowing highlight of an adventure-filled 2023 and so worth all the visa hurdles and changing shoot dates and pre-production stress dreams. There were several times I thought the project wouldn’t/couldn’t happen at all and it was peak stress for a coupla weeks bUT IT DID HAPPEN AND IT ROCKED.

We started in Guangzhou for the work/shoot portion of the trip (even the work stuff is a blast with JunAn, obvi) so here’s a sampling of our Guangdong escapades 🗺️ apparently manifesting is real!! taken in Guangzhou, China by @heybails1

I fell off my habit of oversharing about events from a literal year ago but I’m BACK BABY because I still have stuff I want to share, even if it’s tacky to post like a maniac!!

SO thus begins the deluge of content from a trip to Asia last September for my JOB, starting with the missed flight connection in France + the subsequent 24 hours of my slobby disheveled Ratatouille ass looking chic as hell roaming Parisian streets in my plane pajamas. 💅 taken in Paris, France by @heybails1

In May we all woke up at 4am to apply for these Kalalau backpacking permits (once again, just lucky I got a spot) and then in August we found ourselves at the trailhead and I was still sorta in disbelief that I was even there. And I still am in disbelief!! What in the world!!! Can you believe?!!?! by @heybails1
