A true milestone!!! As a young musician studying and loving this music, I could never have imagined seeing my face on the cover of @downbeat_mag. Moments like this are a reminder that the real reward has always been the opportunity to serve the music, learn from the masters, contribute to this incredible community, and pass it all forward. My sincerest gratitude to everyone who has been part of my journey, and to @allen.morrison1 who wrote a most thoughtful accompanying article. Grateful, inspired, and excited for what’s ahead… it’s just the beginning!!! by @heyemmet

UNIVERSAL TRUTH is out today!!!

I’m so excited to finally share this album with you all. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make it happen—the musicians, engineers, and our hardworking team. I’m especially grateful to have the legendary @georgecolemanofficial and @roncarterbassist on this recording, and I want to give a heartfelt thank you to @mackavenuerecords and Michael R. Ragan for their belief and support throughout this journey.

I hope these songs bring you some joy, deepen your connection to the lineage, and perhaps encourage you to contemplate your own universal truths along the way.

It’s yours now, and I can’t wait for you to hear it— link in bio!!!

Sometimes you know exactly where you are in the music, and sometimes you lose all sense of time. That’s part of the magic.

Loved exploring the idea of “keeping time” with King Seiko VANAC — on the wrist, at the piano, and everywhere in between.

I feel so incredibly fortunate to have spent time around Jimmy Heath. I remember one time sitting next to him on a bus from New York to Washington, DC, on New Year’s Eve. He spoke about Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and the Modern Jazz Quartet. It changed my whole view on music.

I had the chance to get to know him and Tootie fairly well over the years, and I’m so thankful for everything he gave to us. We stand on the shoulders of Jimmy Heath when we play this music, and I want to give him an extra big heavenly shout-out on his 100th birthday!!!! by @heyemmet
