I am so excited and honestly honored to be selected to help editors confirm and shape the 2027 wedding trends list for @theknot and @weddingpro.

This report was meticulously crafted based on data from millions of couples and I think it’s an interesting read for couples and vendors alike.

My personal fav didn’t make it into the social media sneak peek list but is on the full report (link in bio). Can you guess which one it is? I’ll give you a hint: 🖼️ 🎨 🍷🎹🪞

Peep slides 16 and 17. Never thought I’d be standing on the OG PDX carpet in Washington, D.C., but @ronwyden had it on lock. It was one of my favorite surprises of the trip, but the conversations that happened on it are what matter most.

While prepping for this trip, the thing I heard about most from other vendors was healthcare. I spent my time advocating to reinstate the tax credits we lost last December, and to help create group pools without weakening coverage.

Tariffs came up almost as often, and in our industry they have a serious ripple effect. We’re all independent businesses, but we team up for every wedding, so when one vendor’s costs go up, everyone feels it.

Even though the wedding industry is a $70 billion industry, it’s made up almost entirely of small businesses. The work is seasonal, vendors are mostly contractors, and every client is a one-time client. That’s what makes these issues so personal, and it’s why they hit us so differently.

And this is just the start of these conversations. Representing this community in those rooms was a real privilege, and I’m excited to keep learning and stay a part of the conversation. Vendors, please reach out to me to join the dialogue.

Thank you again to @theknot and @weddingpro for facilitating this opportunity.🙏🏼

Somebody pinch me. I just spent the last few days in Washington, D.C. as part of The Knot’s initiative to make sure wedding vendors’ voices are being heard at the tables that matter most. I got to meet with the offices of Senators Wyden and Merkley and Representative Bonamici to share what I’ve been preparing these last several months.

When I found out I was coming to DC, I started calling my vendor connections and talking to everyone I sat down with at vendor meals. I asked them what their struggles were with the industry and what we needed to say while we had the chance. The first thing everyone brought up was healthcare, and a close second was tariffs. So that’s what I spent my time researching and talking about.

I honestly learned so much from this experience on so many levels, and I was surprised at how well our stories were received. It gave me a glimpse into what’s going on inside Capitol Hill, and it was really cool to share this opportunity with other vendors from around the country. I’m really excited to follow up and continue to be part of this dialogue, and as part of that, I’ve promised to pass along more stories from vendors about what’s impacting them on the ground, which has inspired me to get more involved at a local level too.

So if you’re a vendor reading this, please send me a DM or email me at info@heyitszotti.com and share your story. The wedding industry finally has a voice at these tables and I can say with confidence that yours does matter. I’m so grateful to @theknot, and I’m so proud to be a part of this.

To be continued.

Ask not what the girl can do for her country, ask what the country can do about her deductible. 👩🏻‍⚖️
