Today we say goodbye to my Gram and Pops apartment of 30 years. Not only has this apartment been my home so many times through out my life, but it’s been my safe space, my happy place, a place I felt such love and comfort, where I felt free to be myself and always welcomed. Growing up I moved so many times, went to 8 different schools- but there was always one reliable place to return to, here. So many memories were made here with my Grandparents, cousins, family friends etc. It’s seen my grandparents 13 grandchildren and their children. It’s seen holidays, parties, birthdays, sad times, illnesses, and even a wedding. I can still so vividly hear the Law and Order SVU (one of my Grams favorite shows) theme song playing as I fell asleep, the sounds of a Phillies/Eagles game and Pops excitement when we won and frustration when we lost. The Mary Kate and Ashley movies my Gram bought me when I was sick. Learning how to draw and take pictures with my Pop. The friends I had over in my teens. The laughter with my cousins. The very last place I ever got to see my Pop. I could go on for days. This place will always have a special place in my heart and I am forever grateful for the home and comfort it provided. I am so sad that it’s over, but I’m so thankful for the memories. I hope the next family has just as good as an experience as we did. Forever grateful for my Gram and Pop 💖

Of course I always had my home with my parents, and my Dads home that he’s lived in for years as well. I love and appreciate those places too, today I just want to honor this special place I had with my Grandparents as we say Goodbye.

Side note - my gram still had the calendar on the month/year that my Pop passed, she never changed it 😭 December 2011. I took it down yesterday as we packed up some of the final things.
