If there’s one thing I hope people take away from my journey, it’s that your circumstances don’t have to define your future.

Right now, I’m walking through one of the hardest seasons of my life—recovering from major knee reconstruction, spending countless hours in physical therapy, learning how to be the mom I want to be for my one-year-old with limited mobility, and navigating days where even the smallest tasks feel impossible.

But every tiny step forward matters.

I don’t share these moments because I have it all figured out. I share them because I know someone out there is fighting a battle no one else can see. Maybe your challenge looks different than mine. Maybe you’re carrying doubt, fear, grief, or setbacks that make you question if you can keep going.

For me, my greatest source of hope is my faith in Jesus Christ. Knowing there is an Author and Orchestrator of my life—that God sees the whole picture when I can only see today—carries me through the darkest moments. I trust that His plans are good, even when I don’t understand them, and that He is working all things together for those who love Him. That truth gives me the strength to keep taking one more step. (Pun intended, thanks @psoltysiak šŸ˜‰)

Without my relationship with Jesus and my connection to the spiritual, I know I wouldn’t have the same hope or joy. My positivity isn’t rooted in perfect circumstances—it’s rooted in the One who never changes.

So if you’re in a season where you feel like you can’t, shouldn’t, or aren’t enough, let this be your reminder:

You are stronger than you think. You are capable of more than you know. And you don’t have to walk through it alone.

If my story helps even one person believe, ā€œI can too,ā€ then every difficult moment is worth sharing.

Keep showing up. Keep believing. Keep trusting. Your breakthrough may be closer than you realize. šŸ¤

& thanks to all my family and friends that continue to show love, care and support during this trying time šŸ™

A few months ago, everything in our life changed.

Hey! We’re the Glass family — Walker, Ciara, Finnlay and Calloway

This isn’t the life we planned… but it’s the one we’ve been given and the one we’re choosing to trust God with!

A little bit about us and how we got here…

Dance has always been at the center of Ciara’s life — It wasn’t just a career — it was a dream, a community, and a home.

But everything changed in an instant.

During a performance, Ciara suffered a catastrophic knee injury — a full dislocation with complete ligament tears — and is now facing multiple surgeries and a long recovery. Right now, she can’t work, move normally, or care for daily life the way she used to. This has completely changed her ability to parent her 1 year old, as well as her ability to successfully run her dance studio/company business. Since movement is kind of a big part of dance.

At the same time, life didn’t slow down — and financially, and physically just around the home, things became overwhelming fast.

So as a family, we made a decision we never expected to make…

We’re stepping into RV life — not as an escape, but as a way to rebuild and reshape our future with the card that we’ve been dealt recently!
To simplify.
To stay together.
To build more memories.
To create something sustainable in the middle of a really hard season.

Walker brings the hands and heart behind that rebuild — with a background in materials testing, teaching certification courses for construction, and a passion for art and furniture restoration. Together, we’re pouring everything we have into turning an older motorhome into a safe, functional home for our family.

This journey is about more than travel.
It’s about healing.
It’s about rebuilding.
It’s about choosing faith in God when everything feels uncertain.

We’ll be sharing the real, unfiltered version of this season of our lives — the hard, the beautiful, and everything in between.

If you feel led to follow along, support, or even just say hi — it truly means more than you know šŸ¤

We’re really grateful you’re here.

A month ago, our life looked completely different.
I was performing … and in a split second, everything shifted.
A full knee dislocation turned into torn ligaments, a blood clot, and now multiple surgeries ahead.

Right now, I can’t walk. I can’t work. And life hasn’t really slowed down around any of it.
We still have two boy to raise
A home To keep up with
A whole life that keeps moving.

And on top of that, my studio of 7 years is closing this summer.
That part is really hard.
It’s something I’ve built and devoted my life to for years… and even though there are plans to rebuild better than ever, right now it just feels like a big loss.

Walker’s carrying a ton in this too—especially with the studio and home move-out and everything I physically can’t do right now.

So we’ve been asking—what actually makes sense for this season?
And that’s what led us here.
We’re moving into an RV.

Not just because of what happened… but because it gives us a way to move forward through it.
A way to simplify.
To stay together.
To build something that actually supports this season of recovery.
But we’re Trusting God.
Figuring it out.
One step at a time.
Rebuilding as we go.
And still choosing to create a life that holds something good in the middle of all of this.

Follow along with our family as we embark on this new Journey!

8 months ago, I lost a version of myself.
I lost my mobility. My independence. My ability to work, dance, provide, create, and show up for people the way I always had. Somewhere along the way, I felt like I lost myself too.
This recovery has been about more than rebuilding my knee. It has been about slowly finding me again.
Now, after my final surgery to reconstruct my ACL and remove the scar tissue that had built up, I’m looking back at everything it took to get here. The tears. The frustration. The fear. The tiny victories. The days I wondered if my body would ever feel like mine again.
And I cannot tell this story without talking about the people who carried me.
My husband has been my biggest support through all of this. We expect our spouses to stand beside us in the good and bad, but the truth is, not everyone does. I am incredibly grateful that I married a man who stayed. Who picked up the slack when Mama couldn’t do her jobs. He stepped into the mom roles while continuing to carry his dad responsibilities, our home, our family, and everything else that needed to be done. He never made me feel like a burden. He simply showed up. Again and again.
My parents have been my rocks. They have supported me financially while I’ve been unable to work and have watched my business change dramatically. But beyond the financial support, they have been there on the stormiest days—the days when I needed someone to remind me who I was.
My mother-in-law opened her home to me during my post-surgery recoveries and loved me like her own daughter through every painful, frustrating, vulnerable moment. I will forever be grateful for that kind of love.
And to my solid friends who have continued to keep me in their lives even when I haven’t had much to give back—thank you. You have shown me that friendship isn’t about what you can provide. It’s about staying.
I have lost a lot through this season, but I have also gained perspective, gratitude, strength, and a deeper understanding of what really matters.
I am still healing. Still rebuilding. Still figuring out what life and dance will look like on the other side of this.
But I am finding myself again, and I am so rea by @heyletsgorv

All my life, I’ve loved living in the unknown.

There’s always been something about spontaneity, change, and not knowing what’s coming next that made me feel alive. Too much routine and predictability has always made me feel uneasy — almost like I’m doing something wrong.

I’ve never been good at sticking to morning or evening routines for very long. Even a steady 9–5 has felt nearly impossible at times. I’ve always craved movement, freedom, and the next thing.

But as I get older, I’m learning something I never expected:

There is so much beauty in simplicity.

This knee injury has completely taken me out of my own body and, in many ways, out of the life I was used to living. It’s been frustrating and humbling, but in the stillness, I’m beginning to see things differently.

I’m learning that peace doesn’t always come from having somewhere to go.

Sometimes it comes from staying still. From choosing the ā€œboringā€ option. From doing less. From letting go of what no longer serves me instead of constantly adding something new.

Maybe I don’t need more.

Maybe I need less.

Less noise. Less striving. Less control. Less pressure to know what comes next.

Because ultimately, my peace doesn’t come from having my life figured out.

It comes from the Lord.

I’m learning that I am not in control of this world — and honestly, I can barely control my own circumstances. And somehow, I’m beginning to see that as a beautiful thing.

I don’t have to worry about how the day will unfold, how a conversation will go, or whether everything will turn out the way I imagined.

I can do my part. I can show up. I can love people well. I can be the good I want to see in the world.

And then I can release the rest.

The expectations. The timelines. The need to understand. The need to control.

God is the one who ultimately holds it all. He sees the whole picture when I can only see a tiny piece.

Maybe faith is trusting that one day, it will all make sense.
So for now, I’m learning to find peace in the stillness, to stop running from the quiet, and to let life be simple.

I don’t need to know what comes next.

Maybe it’s enough to know who hol by @heyletsgorv

8 months ago, my life was turned completely upside down.
This week, I had my final surgery. My ACL was reconstructed, and a significant amount of scar tissue was removed. This surgery is the final step in the long physical recovery I’ve been walking through. I still have many weeks of physical therapy ahead, and honestly, I’m nervous. I don’t know exactly how my body will respond, how my mobility will feel, or what dancing will look like for me on the other side of this.
But now, for the first time in 8 months, I feel like I can finally breathe.
This injury has changed my mind, body, business, relationships, and soul. I’ve had to slow down and appreciate things I used to rush past. I’ve learned to accept help, to ask for what I need, and to recognize that I don’t have to carry everything alone. My priorities have shifted. My family and my faith in Jesus have become more important than ever.
I’ve also experienced the painful reality of people walking away because I could no longer provide the dance opportunities, community, connection, and growth that I once poured into others. That hurt deeply.
But this season also revealed the people who truly love me. The ones who stayed. The ones who checked in. Who helped with childcare, helped with my studio move, encouraged me when I was struggling, prayed for me, donated to my GoFundMe, and simply reminded me that I wasn’t alone. You have shown me what real friendship, love, and loyalty look like. I will never forget it.
My business has changed too. Dance will look different for me moving forward, and I’m still figuring out what that means. There are struggles, questions, and fears—but there is also hope.
This chapter has changed me. I’m not the same person I was 8 months ago, and maybe that’s okay.
There is still a long road ahead, but today feels like a turning point. The darkest season is behind me, and I can finally see some light on the horizon. ā¤ļø
Thank you to everyone who has carried me through this season. And if you’re able, please consider donating to my GoFundMe. Every bit of support helps me and my family continue rebuilding while I heal.
Here’s to rebuilding and trusting God with whatever comes next šŸ™ā™„ļø by @heyletsgorv

This little/not-so-little guy is almost a year and a half old already! 🤯 #wherehasthetimegone

This year certainly has been full of unexpected twists and turns, and my momming plans got derailed by my injury. But that hasn’t made watching you grow any less of a joy. 🄰

Hello, my name is Ciara & During a performance, I suffered a catastrophic left knee dislocation that completely tore my ACL, PCL, and MCL, along with a medial meniscus tear and damage to other supporting structures.

This wasn’t a simple knee injury.

I developed a DVT (blood clot) in my leg, which delayed surgery and required months of medication. I eventually underwent a complex reconstruction that included a PCL reconstruction using a donor Achilles tendon graft, MCL reconstruction, meniscus repair, scar-tissue removal, and extensive rehabilitation.

And that was only Stage One.

My ACL remains completely torn, and I am facing another major surgery this week, followed by months of physical therapy and recovery.

Before this happened, I was a dancer, choreographer, teacher, business owner, wife, and mom. Dance was my career, my passion, my community, and a huge part of who I am. I spent years building Haus of Glass Dance and creating a life centered around movement.

Then, overnight, everything changed.

I went from dancing, teaching, creating, and caring for my family to learning how to live in a wheelchair and on crutches. I had to step away from the career and business I loved, while our family tried to navigate surgeries, medications, specialists, PT, medical equipment, and everyday life.

We are now facing more than $160,000 in medical and related debt.

That number is overwhelming to even say.

I never imagined being in a position where I would need to ask for help, but this is bigger than what our family can carry alone.

Recovery has changed my definition of progress. 65° of knee bend became a victory. One shaky step became a milestone. Getting through another PT session became something worth celebrating.

I still have a long road ahead, and I don’t know exactly what my future in dance will look like. But I refuse to believe this injury is the end of my story.

Through all of this, our family is choosing faith over fear and trusting God one day at a time.
