The moment they realised that its time to get the golden medal for first place in the category and didn’t expect it. You know thats when you come for the vibes and end up becoming an athlete.

To the runners, the walkers, the pram-pushers, and the ones who said “it’s just a fun run” and then sprinted like it was the Olympics. We love you.

We managed to run, not get lost, and nobody had to call an ambulance. That’s a win in my book.

First place was a surprise, but the best prize was not having to run alone. Thanks for sweating with us.

We thought that we will give a progress report on Elle’s first run since she doesn’t have strava yet…

ATHLETE: Elle (3 months old)
EVENT:First Fun Run Since Being Born
LOCATION:Somerset West
DIVISION:Ultra-Lightweight / Pram Class

RACE SUMMARY:
Elle arrived at the start line looking suspiciously calm. No stretching. No warm-up. Just vibes and a dummy.

KM 0 - 0.5: Absolute dominance. Slept through the starting gun. Personal best for Most Relaxed Athlete. Crowd favourite.

KM 0.5 - 1:Strategic feeding pit stop. Hydration strategy on point. 100% milk, 0% electrolytes. Coach (Mom/Dad) carrying 90% of the bodyweight, Elle carrying 100% of the attitude.

KM 1 - Finish:Deployed the Secret Weapon: The Stare. Stared down every other competitor. One runner actually apologized. Undefeated in eye-contact battles.

FINAL STATS:
- Time: Irrelevant, she was on baby time
- Pace: Pram pace
- Naps taken: 1.5
- Blowouts: 0 (a new course record)
- Tears: 0 (Parents: 0 tears too, miraculous)
- Fans cheering her name: All of them

POST-RACE INTERVIEW:
Reporter: Elle, how did you do it?
Elle: fart and falls asleep

VERDICT:Qualified for next year’s Olympics in Cute. 10/10 would push again.

We came. We ran. And definitely overworked Strava.

More than 600 runners took on the 5 km,but somewhere around halfway, our water point became less of a hydration station and more of a full-blown fan club.

Water was handed out. High-fives were exchanged. Connections were made. And naturally, one chicken crossed the road.

5 km. 600+ runners. One seriously lekker day.

Remember when we said we were coming to Pretoria?

Well, we meant it.

Five months ago, we announced our expansion into Jakarandastad, and it’s been quite the ride since. What started with one team member has grown into a team of four, and a whole lot of momentum in Pretoria.

From our first announcement to our first listing, our first team meeting and everything in between, it’s been one exciting ride.

3 Month Performance Review Of Elle

Employee: Mom & Dad
Boss: Elle, 3 months old

Sleep: We were told “sleep when the baby sleeps”
She never sleeps. So we don’t sleep. 2/10

Diapers Changed: 700.
We are now black belts in Ninja Diaper Change. 10/10

Feeding: Milk bar is open 24/7, no public holidays.
Google review from boss: “Excellent service, would scream again.”

Crying: We are now fluent in 4 languages: Hungry, Tired, Poop, and “I just want to cause chaos at 3am”

Her Performance:
From a screaming potato to a smiling, drooling, chunky-thigh CEO who now holds her own head up and judges us silently.

First slide completed. Rating: 0/10 enthusiasm, as seen above.

Final Verdict:
We have no idea what we’re doing, but she hasn’t fired us yet. So we’re keeping the job.

Happy 3 months, Boss. We love you.
