A few hours shy of my final MBA class!

Truly He completed this good work 💛💃🏾🙏🏽

I have a plan post-MBA to recap lots of travel memoirs 🛫🛬🌍.

Someone dear recently reminded me of Winnie the Pooh's famous quote, "We didn't realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun." This is soooo true! 😊

There are so many beautiful memories experienced in the past 2 years, and I'm excited to share some of them now that I'm gradually coming up for air. taken in MIT Sloan School of Management by @heyrestlessfeet

When this journey started, I knew I couldn't do it by my strength, and every day, there's a confirmation.
Even when I think I'm strong or super enough, I am humbly reminded to lean into the ONE that's my everything.
I'm glad that the foundation of this experience is firm in Christ.

PS, it's official. I'm truly a student again, lol. Today, we sat in an exam hall with a test booklet, and it made the past 7 weeks as real as it can get.

So yes, call me Muele, the student, and remember to pray for me if you're thinking about how you can support me or not 😉 🙂

No rhythm yet, and I'm still very much navigating. Being patient with myself and I hope you can be with me too 💛

Travel as a means to reset!

As professionals we often get pulled in one too many directions. Sometimes self induced because we have goals we want to smash or third-party induced from work.

The past week I tapped into my amazing friend groups to reset and one highlight was going on a trip together. We all felt refreshed while on the trip and going back to our life demands hasn’t been unbearable!

It made me realise that I’m rich in people and awesome travel experiences.

What do you hope to be “rich” in as we approach the rest of the year?

A major cost in your travel budget will often be the flight/train tickets. What if I told you that you can get 2 for 1 without spending much more!

One favourite travel hack is combining countries, you can fly into one country and take a train to the other, get a low cost carrier ticket, or maybe your airline has a layover in another country so you make a trip out of it.

I have done a few combinations that I absolutely loved and didn’t spend as much as I would have if I did each of these countries separately:
Kenya 🇰🇪 + Tanzania 🇹🇿 (featured in the video)
France 🇫🇷 + Netherlands 🇳🇱 (featured in the video)
Slovakia 🇸🇰 + Austria 🇦🇹 + Czechia 🇨🇿 + Hungary 🇭🇺

And so much more! It’s one of my favourite ways to travel, and I always throw it in when helping people plan their trips. I helped a friend do Turkey 🇹🇷 + UK 🇬🇧 one time and he had a BLAST, one ticket - 2 trips 🙅🏽‍♀️

Each time you can go further and farther, and this is why I absolutely love travel combinations.

What are some of your favourite country combinations if you love doing this and if you haven’t, which combinations would you love to try? Let’s chat 💛 by @heyrestlessfeet

I enjoy planning trips and when I’m on the go, I love a good mobile app that is functional but highly effective.

Here are some apps you should have at all times to help you plan your next trip:

Skyscanner: I love using this for my flights especially the “everywhere” feature. If you are able to work remotely, you can definitely stay flexible on the location and travel date to save money. I also like Google flights to track flight cost changes.

Booking.com : My go-to app/site for finding accommodations love that it gives the flexibility to tailor your search to your needs.

Airbnb : To find unique accommodations and mostly for bigger groups when you’re looking for “family style” apartments.

Google translate : A MUST when visiting a foreign country. The best feature is the offline file download, absolutely life saving.

Tripadvisor : Use this to find activities, restaurants, inspiration and reviews!

Others in my toolkit : Airline apps (always good to have the app for your most frequent airline), Country arrival app (to pre-declare and save yourself immigration time at the airport).

Fun bonus app : Mark O’Travel! To keep track of where I’ve visited 😎

Contrary to some popular opinions, I love having a 9-5 as it continues to help me smash my travel goals. I received an interesting message that made me smile, but also got me thinking about why sometimes we see our 9-5 as a hindrance to meeting your travel goals.

I believe, it provides a huge advantage and here’s how your 9-5 can support your travel goals:

💵 Funds! It gives you the finances you need to make the trip happen in a structured way.

🕰️ Scheduled time off. This can be an advantage as you’re able to plan in advance and save money. Also, there’s an excitement that comes with the anticipation.

🍽️ Freebies at work such as free lunches can help ramp up your free cash flow and ease your budget.

🙌🏽Air miles and points! If you’re in a career that requires a lot of travelling, you can be in for a treat. You gather a ton of air miles and hotel points that you can use towards your personal vacation, win!

✈️ Free work-cations. I’m a firm believer of this, and I know sometimes it’s not feasible, but more often than not you can extend your work trip to enjoy a good vacation. Or if your Company policy permits, you can route your flights in a way that allows you visit a destination en route.

Overall I love finding ways to leverage my career to meet my travel goals. Let me know how you also leverage your career or business to travel 😊 by @heyrestlessfeet

Picking a destination for your next group trip is just as important as the crew you go with.

I’ve been to several countries with groups of varying sizes and here are 6 countries I absolutely loved going to with a group (in no particular order);

South Africa 🇿🇦 : Views for days! The variety of activities we could do as well, most required a good drive so it was great to experience together.

Benin Republic🇧🇯 : Great opportunity to learn about culture and history with your group. You’ll find yourselves reflecting on certain privileges you may be taking for granted.

Turkey 🇹🇷 : Early mornings that paid off with awesome experiences. You’ll need your crew to enjoy the ride.

Panamá 🇵🇦 : The food! Every meal was a hit and it was great that we had a big group to share several plates from the menu. I never associated Panamá with food when I picked this destination so I was pleasantly surprised.

Mexico 🇲🇽 : For a mix of everything, I loved that we could get the chill vibes and adventure in one place. Never ran out of ideas for the Group while here.

Netherlands 🇳🇱 : For the people! Super chilled vibes and everyone was helpful. Enjoyed being with my group as we felt safer while exploring at night.

Which of these destinations would you love to visit with your Group? Would also love to hear some of your favourite Group trip destinations. Let’s chat 😊 by @heyrestlessfeet

Choosing a group travel experience over a solo trip can be daunting to some people. But it doesn’t have to be!

I always remind myself no one came on the trip to make it unpleasant for everyone else.

Here are my tips to help you have a successful group trip no matter the group size.

1) Communication is Key : Speak up and do so timely in a respectful way

2) Agree a budget : Talk about money and agree on it, including meals budget.

3) Designate roles : This helps avoid conflicts!

4) Agree on group activities : Not every activity must include the entire group, decide on which ones you want to do together. Also is the group having meals together? Which ones?

5) Stay open-minded : People may be different from you and that’s ok.

6) Be patient and flexible : Can’t overemphasise this

7) Respect privacy!

Bonus tip : Always always have a good time 😊💛

What did I miss? Would love to read what you’ll add to this list and which one resonates the most, so please share in the comments! by @heyrestlessfeet

Travelling solo can be good but travelling in a group is always a better idea.

I highly recommend going on a group trip with your friends or a travel group. Sometimes you travel solo and join a travel group but always leave with new friends and family.

Here are some reasons why I love group travels:

- Great Company and vibes
- Shared costs : Definitely cheaper to book unique experiences as a group. But my favourite thing to do is buying different meals on the menu to try and splitting the costs
- Lots of encouragement to try new adventures and free cheerleaders
- Security: You feel safer in a group
- Shared memories

Working while travelling is never ideal, but hear me out. Sometimes it could make for a good balance by giving you an opportunity to get a cheaper flight on a better day to your destination or longer days in the city you want to explore. So never rule this option out by default - You can still max out both ways, working and vacationing 😉

Here are some tips that help me successfully do this

1. Having a strong internet connection - most hotels will offer this, but have a backup plan (mobile data that you can hotspot with)

2. Scheduling meetings to give time for activities during the day e.g. you can have meetings until noon, go for some activities and finish your tasks in the evening

3. Don’t forget your power pack at home! It can be a disaster trying to buy one in a new city

4. You’re in a beautiful place so feel free to change location through the day - don’t sit at one spot!

Photos are such are great souvenir from every trip. When work gets so busy, I like to take myself on a mini-vacation through my photos to relieve some stress.

Here are some options I juggle between when travelling:

1) Friends/family : Possibly the easiest option especially if they are great at taking photos or following instructions lol. The 1st,4th and 5th frames were taken by my lovely travel buddy @foodeater106

2) A reliable tripod: The most flexible option, the tripod doesn’t get tired of taking “another” shot. Highly recommend getting a light weight tripod that’s very sturdy. The photo in the 2nd frame was taken with my tripod.

3) A local photographer: Lately, I try to book a photo session with a local. Not only am I supporting their businesses, but I’m sure to get high quality shots while having fun and learning about the place. The 3rd frame was taken by @byrafaelafotografia an amazing photographer in Panamá 🇵🇦

All beautiful shots for sure, so you can’t go wrong with either option.

Costa Rica 🇨🇷 is a destination of choice for every traveler. But most importantly it’s definitely a professionals haven because of the variety of experiences it offers. A little bit of rest, sprinkle some adrenaline and then rest some more before you return to work. Can’t recommend enough!

Here are some experiences you should add to your itinerary (you can do these and more over 4 days, at a very slow pace);

- Wander around San Jose and grab a bite at a Soda: You don’t need a well laid out itinerary, just be sure to eat at a local Sodà to dine like a local

- Milk a cow at a farm: Major highlight and increased respect for farmers because it’s not as easy as it looks!

- Enjoy a thermal springs day: You can get a day pass for @tabaconresort

- Take a cocktail making class: Definitely a fun activity while enjoying the drinks you make. Book with @cantinaspectacolar for an awesome time

- Chase waterfalls: Or waterfalls will chase you, lol. Honestly we saw at least 7 waterfalls if not more, all soooo stunning! La Fortuna waterfall, @Lapazwaterfallgardens or Mistico

- Explore Mistico hanging bridges

- Zipline and Rappel through the forest: Nothing beats this, it was soooo good! Just do it lol

- Enjoy scenic drives

- Relax in the cool springs and pool : Had a swell morning @elsilenciodelcampo

And top of the list PURA VIDA 💛
