here i am again, treating my instagram as my diary. it’s been a couple of weeks since i came home to hamburg (ha, both feel like home to me now). i ended up taking more time to slowly get back to social media. as it turned out, i really enjoyed my time being offline, but at the same time i enjoy creating and sharing beautiful things. the winter here has been brutal, probably the most winter-like ever. but i look forward to living in the season again and finding joy in what feels like an eternity of greyness and cold. for now, here are some more colorful memories from my trip. .°‏ 𖦹 𓇼 °‏. taken in Bohol, Philippines by @heyrhea_

the greyness of November feels so different. suppose I could read White Nights by Dostoevsky for the first time again. I would read it this month 🌒 the cold already feels like it pierces through my skin, and soon it will sink deeper but I hope the winter cold won’t be so harsh that the cold settles in my heart.

time to dig out the thick scarves and mittens from the back of the closet. eat hot soup, journal, go for daily walks (no matter how cold), take vitamin d, and stay warm. 🧦🌲☕️

late summer days <3 i forgot how beautiful august can be, with pink evening skies, the smell of hay, and the sound of crickets in the fields. i usually start my mornings with a mindfulness journal; it helps me feel grounded and as though i am in control of my time. in the evenings, i love riding my bike to discover new places, watch birds, and see tractors carrying hay. today at the farmers market, i was reminded of the colorful late summer produce and the early signs of the autumn harvest. beautiful days ahead!! 🌾🚜🐑

we have a yearly autumn tradition of staying somewhere remote to spend cosy days away from the busyness of the world. as someone who doesn’t have a fireplace at home, i always pick a place with one. during this trip i got to explore Rügen Island, which was surprisingly a big island with beautiful beach and forests, and rich in wildlife. i went to sleep hearing red deer making loud sounds, which was a little scary for me when it’s super dark, but we felt right in the middle of nature. ࣪ ˖𓃴 ⊹˚. ݁𓍊

end of a season, again

so many unforgettable moments from these past months. i travelled alone to sardinia to meet my online best friend for the first time, i stood on the highest peak of germany, i crossed off my 8-year-long dream of exploring switzerland, i became a little less afraid of heights and got over my fear of meeting new people. life is so full of beautiful surprises. you honestly don’t know what’s around the corner!!! by @heyrhea_

i can’t believe i finally got to see the matterhorn with my own eyeballs in real life!!! my first solo hike: i gained 1,200m of elevation from zermatt center to this point, where there was hardly anyone, and the whole route had epic views.

that is nature’s veil
covering the distant trees
and mountain tops
moving so quickly with the wind
that in a glimpse you might miss it.
i wonder if i was just way up high
or if they’ve come down,
because for a moment

some of the best memories are made in the mountains :)

a mountain lake basin at 1,555 m in the Alps

a quick dip after a full day of hiking

there are horses grazing in the distance

just next to our first peak of the trip at 2,000m

my second peak this trip 2,050m

the only traffic i don’t mind

this and not a worry in the world

just unreal
