Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death in children, and for autistic children, the risk is even higher. That’s a scary statistic—but this post isn’t about fear.

It’s about preparation. Confidence. Practice.

That’s why we created “Swim Like a Dolphin.” 🐬

A fun, catchy song that gets kids moving while teaching important swim safety skills they can actually remember:
✨ Stop and think before entering the water
✨ Ask a grown-up first
✨ Practice safe swimming habits
✨ Build confidence around water

Because the best safety lessons don’t always come from lectures—they come from songs kids want to sing over and over again.

🌊🐬 Swim Like a Dolphin 🐬🌊

As an autism mom, water safety is something I never take lightly.

That’s why we created Swim Like a Dolphin—a fun, playful song that helps kids learn important swim safety concepts through music and movement. Because kids may not listen to another lecture, but they’ll happily sing, dance, and pretend to be dolphins. 💦

At Strawberry Road, we believe some of the most important lessons are learned through play.

This summer, grab your little dolphins and join us:
🐬 Move your body
🌊 Practice water safety
🎶 Learn through music
☀️ Have fun together

What a BERRY sweet time we had at @werockmurfreesboro! 🍓🙌🏻

We sang, danced, and had some amazing friends make the trip all the way from Franklin to join the fun. 🥰 What a treat!

To all the incredible parents and caregivers—thank you for letting us celebrate your amazing little ones with you. Your kids are the heart of everything we do, and we’re so grateful to be part of their journey. ❤️

April may be over but #autismawareness, #autismacceptance and #inclusion is an every day kind of thing on Strawberry Road. To spread some joy last month, we did something new and so BERRY special - we hosted Strawberry Sing-a-Longs! We traveled to some local spots who make our littlest berries feel seen, safe, and of course silly, and we had mini concerts. It was SO fun dancing and singing and playing with everyone!

Here’s a little video to show all the fun days we had, and looking forward ahead to more fun days!

A splash into summer with a song about water safety!

“Swim Like a Dolphin” was created to celebrate organizations like Nashville Dolphins and to remind us that learning to swim is life-changing for all children but especially for kids with special needs. In fact, it’s more than life-changing - it’s life SAVING.

On this berry special episode of Strawberry Road, celebrating #autismawareness and #autismacceptancemonth we explore the @nashvillezoo with our most coolest kiddo - Rhodes!

We highlight the Zooper Pass: a magical backpack filled with all sorts of sensory-friendly goodies to make your zoo experience, well, ZOOPER!

Parents! Ask the Zoo ahead of time about quiet hours and Zooper Passes, and ask about more information regarding @kulturecity and why inclusion is ALWAYS a requirement! Because when we INQUIRE, we can INSPIRE action!
