I confuse people. I seem outgoing but I really don’t wanna be around anyone. My love language is quality time, but my toxic trait is I isolate myself. I’m tryna grow but I self-sabotage. I’m confident, but I’m hard on myself. I overthink, but I’m tryna find peace of mind. I’ve hurt people, but I’m healing. And I’m learning to accept love even though I was raised to survive without it 🖤

This next chapter of my life is called… don’t try me.

😂 but fr I overcame so many things this year, both in my personal life and in this housing market (see my last post). To add to it, my character and discipline was tested internally and externally. But I just kept my head up and kept putting one foot in front of the other. Now I can celebrate that I get to come home to a happy home! 🍾🥂 I still can’t believe I accomplished every goal I had this year. But it’s clear I didn’t do it alone. God, my family, and my friends were with me every step of the way. So I’m giving credit where it’s due. And to everybody around me who believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart... y’all bout to get a return on your investment 🙏🏾❤️🔑

God thank you,

For putting up with my silly self. For being there with me. Through the loss of loved ones. Through breakups. Through debt. Through depression. Through my own stubbornness. Through my failures. Through the nights I cried myself to sleep. Thank you. For believing in me when the odds were against me - even when I felt inadequate and didn’t believe in myself. Thank you. For protecting my name in rooms I wasn’t even in. For keeping me safe in situations I didn't know was dangerous. For providing for me financially. For not only making my dreams come true, but for the dreams that came true of those around me. Thank you. For keeping your word. For stabilizing my mind. And for giving me peace no matter what is in front of me. Thank you. For personally showing me what love looks like.

I lost my son in October. Last October, I also lost my sister. Through grieving them both, I learned 4 lessons:

1) Be kind. You never know what someone is going through.
2) Appreciate your family and friends. You don’t know how many birthdays you will get to celebrate them.
3) What you’ve been through does NOT define you - how you bounce back from it does.
4) When people ask me how I keep a smile after everything I’ve lost, I tell them the lessons learned #1-3 are my why.

Today would have been my son’s birthday. So share this message and please join me in wishing Justin Matthew Hassan a happy birthday 🕊❤️
