If I cannot be better than them, I will become so much worse.
Jude Duarte, The Folk of the Air Series - Holly Black

Evening ball cosplay of Jude for bookcon! I had a really fun time putting this together, after the trauma of creating the wig had worn off.

The wig of which is now permanently on my wig stand because how does one even store a wig with horns built on it?

Anyways, this cosplay was a lot of fun. It's the first time I've customized a wig for a character, and although I complain of trauma, it came out really well!

This was also my non-illustrated book cosplay, and it was fun to have a little more freedom in creating her look. (I know Jude technically has the green gown, but in her Queen of Nothing Era I can only see her in black, dripping with snakes 💅)

🐍 Any cosplays you want to do?

Hey, I'm Xemmy 💖 always tired, always reading

I'm a vibe reader; no thoughts, just big feelings
I bring a strong “I hated it, you should read it” energy to the function, which I personally think is neat
(no really, please read it so we can talk about it after)

long time lurker, first time poster. I’m embarrassingly excited to be here

some of my favorite genres:

🧚 fairies (it’s a genre, no further questions)
🗣️ life sucks (and then you die, neat!!)
🔪 good 4 her (women’s rights and wrongs)
🔥 apocalypse, but make it hot (the world is ending, surely there are some hot youths that will save us?)

🌝 what are your genres / book tags of choice?

books in this carousel:
Tithe - Holly Black
A Series of Unfortunate Events - Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler)
Such Sharp Teeth / Black Sheep / Play Nice - Rachel Harrison
Pestilence - Laura Thalassa

Who's tired of me posting about breast cancer?
HOW YOU THINK WE FEEL GOING THROUGH IT 🗣️

Also this post is more vulnerable than I expected it to get and I thought about not posting, but here we ARE!

A few (a lot) of void screams that I had no clue about before getting cancer. Some of these are personal, other survivors and those in treatment have their own stories.

As always, happy breast cancer awareness month. In case you're not aware, fuck cancer. by @heyxemmy

Also, by an overwhelming landslide, Bernadette is a hot dog. Or a hog dog. I will never forget I misspelled hot dog, I'm so glad the Internet can see all my mistakes.

I started this Instagram to yap about books and be a part of the book community, and I loooove silly polls and questions, so big thank you to everyone who entertained me by answering and voting (there will be more, so, so many more, I am sorry I don't make the rules)
