Today is our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! 🥹

Dawson and I met a few years back in the most unconventional way, but honestly, it was perfectly us. 😂 I’d heard whispers about this incredible guy from my friends, but nothing came of it… until a few months later when we were set up on a blind date to get coffee at Highbrow. I remember being equal parts nervous and excited, wondering how this would go. I was dogsitting for our friends at the time and strategically waited to feed Penny dinner just in case the date was a bust and I needed a quick escape plan lol.

From the start, we both didn’t hold back. I asked him all the questions: his life goals, his thoughts on women leading in ministry (lol that’s a good barometer), how his relationship with his parents was… you know, just your average first date small talk. 😂😂 We walked around that pond in West Haven, and somewhere in the middle of that conversation, I just knew I was going to marry this man one day. Crazy enough, he felt the exact same way in that moment.

We were having too much fun to end the night, so we decided to grab dinner… but first, we a slight detour to feed Penny which turned into a whole adventure of its own. 😂

We ended up in downtown Franklin, and he left me in charge of picking the dinner spot. No pressure, right? I went with Gray’s on Main, thinking it looked cute and cozy. I didn’t realize the dinner menu was a tad pricer than I expected until we were already seated. $150 later, I knew he must have really been interested hahaha.

Neither of us wanted the night to end, so we went to the movies. 😆 What was meant to be a quick coffee date turned into an 8-hour marathon of laughs, deep conversations, and unforgettable moments.

Today is a very special day in my world because it’s my bestest friend’s BIRTHDAY 😍

To know Dawson is to LOVE him. He walks in the room and it gets a whole lot brighter (and sometimes louder 🤪). He has such a way of loving people and always believing the best in others - he would rather call out the gold than point out a speck. He walks in a deep level of integrity and is the same person in every room he walks in. He leads with such grace and compassion. He’s not just my almost husband (10 days!!) but my very best friend. I love you and honor you, Dawson Alexander! Happy Birthday 💛

Happiest of Birthday’s to my sweet mama 🥰 If you know her, you know she is one of the sweetest, funniest, kindest people you will EVER meet. She loves so fiercely and walks the walk so well. As I am walking into this season of marriage, I have been contemplating and realizing the depths of her love, devotion, and sacrifice to our family - which has been radically humbling and such a blessing to have that example.
