Announcing our poetry winner, Tola Sylvan! Their suite of 3 poems was selected by poetry judge Sarah Ghazal Ali @caesarah and will be published in an online folio later this year and in our fall/winter print issue!!! ✨🎉❤️

About Tola's poems, Sarah shares “These poems coaxed me deeper and deeper into their bewildered spiral until the day around me disappeared. So strong is the allure here, the wondrous desire in this poet’s singularly attentive voice."

Announcing our fiction winner, Dustin Hoffman @dustin_m_hoffman ! Their story “Black Hole Burbia” was selected by fiction judge Gina Chung @ginathechung and will be published in an online folio later this year and in our fall/winter print issue. Congrats Dustin! ✨💫⚡️

Gina says she "loved this dark and deeply funny story about black holes, suburban ennui, and what it means to live with and alongside the unknown. Seamlessly blending the surreal, the mundane, and the satirical, this story made me laugh and shiver in equal measure.”

Dustin M. Hoffman is the author of the story collections One-Hundred-Knuckled Fist (winner of the 2015 Prairie Schooner Book Prize), No Good for Digging, and, most recently, Such a Good Man. "Black Hole Burbia" is the title story of his linked collection in progress. He painted houses for ten years in Michigan and now teaches creative writing at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His stories have appeared in Booth, Gulf Coast, Ninth Letter, Alaska Quarterly Review, and One Story. You can visit his site here: dustinmhoffman.com by @hfrlitmag

Our spring/summer web issue, AFTERCARE, is live!

In Aftercare we turn our attention to the moments after intensity, into those moments when attention, care, and repair are most crucial. Borrowing its name from the language of kink, the folio asks what it means to stay, to tend, and to rebuild. How can slowness, reciprocity and rest operate as radical acts of survival?
