Last Friday, GCSA had the pleasure of hosting a group of German undergrads visiting UMD as part of the Discover the USA Summer Institute & the German American Fulbright Commission! We had so much fun playing field games and card games, eating pizza and American snacks, and making new friends! And that’s a wrap on the HGLO Amazing Race! 🏁

10 teams. 84+ students and Welcome Leaders. A whole lot of DC. And SO many new connections made along the way.

From the National Mall to the Capitol, our first-year students took on challenges, explored the city, worked together, and most importantly, started building the community that makes HGLO so special.

Every team showed up. Every team competed. Every team brought the energy. And every team left with a few more friends than they started with.

HGLO’s Amazing Race is back!

One of HGLO’s biggest traditions is happening this Friday, and we’re taking over Washington, D.C.!

Get ready for a day of teamwork, competition, challenges, and adventure as 11 teams race across the city and complete missions along the way. And, of course, we’ll wrap up the day with our official HGLO cohort photo! 📸

🍴 We’ll start with lunch together after Honors Convocation before heading to D.C.
