To the neighbor who took the time to print, highlight, and anonymously mail me the note about my dogs: message received.Please know I am not trying to let them run loose. My dogs are almost always inside or out back. We have lived here for 12 years, and this has become more of an issue only since my husband passed away suddenly last year. Since then, there have been times when I come home from work and am simply trying to unlock the door while managing two doodles who are clearly not handling all the change especially gracefully.I understand it is inconvenient when they get out, and I am sorry for that. I truly am. But I will also admit, with a little humor, that if friendly doodles saying hello to the neighbors is the biggest thing on someone’s worry list, that sounds like a pretty good day. I have had a few bigger things on my plate this past year. For anyone concerned, we have sold our home and will be moving in July, so this will soon no longer be an issue.In the meantime, I am doing my best. Six months without you. Today would have been our 10th anniversary, and it looks so different than we dreamed. I remember us talking when we got married about how neither of us wanted to be the one left behind. Yet here I am, missing you. 🥺I know I outkicked my coverage with you. Your wit, brilliance, kindness, humility, talent, and that handsome face—I loved every bit of you. I feel so lucky that I got to share these years, our adventures, and our love story.Even though my heart aches, I find gratitude in the gift of what we had. Just over two long months without you; Without holding your hand, without hugging you, without hearing your voice.....I miss you every day.
