We were 11 weeks pregnant, it happened a week before our first ultrasound. We never got to see you or hear your first heartbeat. The only proof we have that you were here were those tests. We imagined our future with you just for it to get taken away from us, just like that.

The words “i’m so sorry, you have miscarried” broke me. Hours before, I was bleeding and instantly knew i lost our baby but i didn’t want to hear it because it meant it was actually happening. the day after surgery was when everything really hit me, I blamed myself everyday thinking “why me?”, “what did i do wrong?”. Nobody prepares you how mentally draining it is, how common miscarriages are, how empty it makes you feel.

I’m so lucky to have Maks as my partner because he didn’t show his grief just to be by my side and i will always be grateful for him.
