Brahms — Intermezzo Op. 116 No. 6.

From the neon lights of China straight back into the shadows of Brahms. 🇨🇳✨🎹
Different world, same piano — and apparently Brahms was waiting with a few questions of his own. 😏

Second encounter, same beautiful trap.

Chopin — Ballade No. 1 🎹
That theme that somehow says everything without saying a word.
Still timeless. Still impossible to resist.

Scriabin — Prelude Op. 11 No. 11. 🎹

Summer is fading, slowly and beautifully , one last Scriabin before the light changes. 🌅

Weekend flow 🎹

Scriabin — Prélude, Op. 11 No. 1.
A little melancholy, a little mystery… and just enough weekend energy to let the music take over.

Brahms — Op. 117 No. 2 🎹

Some pieces don’t need to be loud to say everything.
A quiet conversation between tenderness, melancholy, and those little moments where Brahms somehow makes time stand still.

Still discovering this one, one phrase at a time.

A warm summer evening in Hamburg, with Brahms quietly filling the room.

There’s something deeply intimate about this theme — tender, restless, and touched with a kind of melancholy that feels almost timeless.

Some music doesn’t need an occasion. It simply belongs to the evening.

『地獄に堕ちるわよ』 — Straight to Hell.

Watching it in the original Japanese makes the atmosphere even more captivating — Tokyo, post-war Japan, ambition, nightlife and all the darker corners underneath.

And then there’s Hibiki Inamoto’s music: haunting, beautiful and strangely addictive. The kind of soundtrack that stays with you after the episode ends.

Brahms Op. 118 No. 2 — Bavaria edition.

Leaving the mountains behind and heading back to Hamburg, where Brahms was born. 🎹

Apparently, Brahms understood the appeal of escaping Hamburg for the mountains too: he spent many summers away from the city, including in Bad Ischl. So this feels less like a departure and more like continuing a rather Brahmsian tradition of disappearing into the countryside with some piano music.

Back to Hamburg. The mountains will have to wait. The Intermezzo, fortunately, travels well.

Liszt’s Widmung, with the Bavarian Alps in the background — because apparently Schumann’s love letter needed a mountain view.
A little less Widmung, a little more Wanderlust. 🎹🏔️

Another little extract from Brahms Op. 118 No. 2 — Hamburg rain edition. 🌧️🎹

The rain is back outside, and after the chorale, that gentle flowing melody returns in its little triplet motion , almost as if Brahms had already imagined a grey Hamburg morning. ( pure fiction 🫢)

Some music doesn’t need sunshine. It just needs rain, a piano, and a little more melancholy than usual.

One month later… slightly faster, and finally making it to the end. 🎹

Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien – Intermezzo.
Same piece, hopefully a little more under control.
