Finally got to try Makilala @makilala.ca ，this cozy local Filipino spot, and honestly I was so pleasantly surprised! Everything felt so warm and authentic.

Here’s what we tried:
🥘 Kare-Kare – The absolute star of the show! Known as a Filipino national treasure, this slow-cooked stew with its rich, velvety peanut sauce and savory shrimp paste is pure magic. Hands down one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! ⭐
🥟 Lumpiang Shanghai – Crispy perfection in every bite.
🐟 Kinilaw – Super fresh, tangy Filipino-style ceviche with a hint of coconut.
🦐 Shrimp Palabok – Flavor-packed noodles with rich, savory toppings.
🍰 Ube Cheesecake – Velvety smooth and not too sweet.
🍹 Ube Fizz & Kalamansi Soda – The most refreshing drinks to balance all the rich flavors!

The vibes inside were so cozy, felt like having dinner at a friend’s place. Definitely adding this to my go-to comfort food list! 🫶

Happy Chinese New Year! 🧧

Today while shopping at Vaughan mills @vaughan_mills I ran into a lion dance performance @wushuproject and the God of Wealth. I was so happy and even want to cry 😢!! Miss my hometown too much !!

It feels amazing to experience such a festive Chinese New Year atmosphere even while being abroad — so happy.

They also set up a Wish Tree where you can hang your New Year wishes. For every wish, Vaughan Mills will donate $1 to Mackenzie Health (up to $5,000), which makes the celebration even more meaningful ❤️

STOP EVERYTHING. I just found Toronto‘s ultimate Crispy Rice Pizza at @omai.restaurant and I am obsessed! 🤯🍕🍣

Every single piece is made-to-order for peak freshness, and honestly? Watching them craft it live is such a vibe. So satisfying to watch! Here is what I got:

✨ Hokkaido Uni Crispy Rice — My absolute favourite! 👑 Fresh Japanese Uni, chopped Bluefin Tuna, and Caviar over the crunchiest rice base. It literally melts in your mouth—pure perfection 🌊✨

🥩 Korean BBQ Beef Crispy Rice — Slow-smoked hickory beef brisket with in-house tangy Korean coleslaw. Smoky, savory, and super crispy! 🔥

Fun fact: They’ve been around for 10+ years, making all sauces, pickles, and breaking down whole fish completely in-house! No shortcuts, just pure love for food.

Hit up this hidden gem in downtown Toronto for authentic Taiwanese comfort food! 🥟🔥

@gyozago_toronto serves amazing dishes with unreal flavor and generous portions! and super quick counter-service (perfect for grab-and-go or a fast casual bite)! 🙌✨

Their crispy-bottom gyozas are next level, and even the set meal mini wonton soup is freshly handmade!

One of our favorite 4x Michelin Guide-recommended spot @sararestaurantto in Toronto just shifted to a tasting-menu-only experience, and it’s honestly such a vibe.

Inspired by Toronto’s rich, multicultural food scene, Executive Chef Lia Silva put together a 7-course culinary progression that feels super thoughtful, elevated, yet totally unpretentious.

Every single bite was on point—from fresh raw starters to rich handmade ravioli and prime striploin served with Japanese milk bread. The whole experience unfolds so seamlessly throughout the evening.

It’s intimate, relaxed, and easily one of the best date night or dinner group spots in the city right now 🕯️🥂

Had the best time at Toronto’s Best Croissant & Best Baguette 2026 Competition! 🥐✨

So many incredible bakeries under one roof, but hands down my absolute favorite was @tangssant_viennoiserie_ — their buttery, flaky layer game is unmatched! 🤤🔥
