Day 3: Creative Sessions Recap 🎬

Yes, I know I’m a month late with the recap 😭 but I had to share my experience and show love to everyone who made the inaugural Black Cinema Club HTX Film Festival such an inspiring weekend for Houston creatives.

From the panels and breakout sessions to the networking, gems, laughs, and conversations….Thank y’all for pouring into the community and sharing your knowledge with us.

Day 1 of @blackcinemaclubhtx ‘s Film Festival really brought the energy with their 90s corporate chic theme. Everybody showed up looking sharp! The love for the movie Boomerang was real. ❤️ It’s a cultural classic that defined style, romance, and Black excellence in the 90s, so it was dope seeing that legacy celebrated like this. The @pressplayersclub DJ had the whole place groovin’, especially with that vinyl set spinning all the throwback jams. We even got a little fashion history moment learning about the iconic looks from the film, which made it feel even more immersive. And shoutout to my girl @_bilenbeauty for winning a candle in the raffle—such a fun, memorable night all around!

Bucket list = CHECK ✔️
I finally got to see the legendary @dianaross live on her Diana in Motion tour and babyyy… what an experience!

If you know me, you know how much I LOVE her and she showed up exactly how I imagined: glitz, glamour, big hair, flawless, and every bit of a true diva 💅🏾 She looked absolutely beautiful and the ENERGY?! At 81, still moving and grooving like THAT?! Icon behavior.

And when she hit Ease on Down the Road from The Wiz and later teased that Billie Jean beat… yeah, I lost it 😭🔥Yall know I Stan for MJ!

Not me in the 4th row surrounded by the elders having the TIME OF MY LIFE 😂🫶🏾

Watching Sinners for the 10th time yesterday and then ending the night at an Oscar watch party with the @blackcinemaclubhtx was such an incredible moment. Chile, you know we’ve been rooting hard for this movie and everyone attached to it for the past year. Seeing Ryan Coogler, @michaelbjordan @addp and @ludwiggoransson finally get their #Oscars at the Academy Awards for SINNERS felt like a win for all of us in the room. And that performance by @_milescaton_ of “I Lied to You”… chileeee chills. 🙌🏾 Nights like this remind you why you love cinema. 🖤🏆🎬 #oscars #oscars2026 #academyawards taken in River Oaks Theatre by @hi_imkimberly

Currently missing the #CowboyCarter era 😩✨ Just realized that, besides J. Cole, #Beyoncé is the only artist I’ve made it a priority to see the same tour in different cities. Both Chicago and Houston were unforgettable. I’m so ready for Act III! 🎸 by @hi_imkimberly
