August 2020 I was hit head on by a young driver and shattered a part of my pelvis/suffered a complete dislocation of the femur, along with a few other injuries to my neck, back, etc.

I didn’t walk, unassisted, for 4 months. I spent this time either bed ridden or on crutches or a walker which was by far the most humbling experience of my life. As you can see, I now have a 7 inch screw directly through my pelvis + a ton of other metal pretty much holding my hip in place.

I won’t get any deeper than that for now…but if you’ve ever suffered a major injury or you’re currently going through recovery, know that how you feel right now is valid. However, giving up shouldn’t be an option. Because your life isn’t over! Simple as that.

On top of having to relearn how to walk, once I got back in the gym, a simple squat took me 7 months to achieve..but I never gave up. I’m still not able to heavy lift at the moment, but I do what I can and it feels damn good to be able to again.
