This has always amazed me. I saw this one night, a few years ago, in Matthews. It was at night. It was pitch dark everywhere in the sky, except where I saw this!! It was beautiful and strange. Looks like a portal to another world where it is daylight. Have never seen one again. by @hickorynut1972

Coco update. Went to the vet today for another eye ulcer checkup. Ulcer is still there. Looked a little smaller but not much. We will be going to N.C. State on Thursday to see an ophthalmologist. This poor bird has been through so much but still loves everybody and doesn't hold grudges. Thank goodness. by @hickorynut1972

Coco update. Went to the vet again today. The eye ulcer was a little smaller but not by much. Debrided the ulcer. Going to continue the antibiotic and healing gel drops and go back again next Monday. Will also be making an ophthalmology appt at NC State Vet Hospital. We always go for an annual checkup every year anyway. Just running late this year due to the metal poisoning. She seems to feel fine. No squinting or scratching at the eye. So I guess that is a plus. The video is Coco playing in her blind bird safe playpen.😁 by @hickorynut1972

Coco has recovered from from the zinc poisoning. What a learning experience this has been. Now we are still dealing with the eye ulcer. The culture identified a pretty nasty bacteria type. Will treat her here in Charlotte but plan on taking her to NC State Vet Hospital for a complete ophthalmology examination in a couple of weeks. I am just so thankful she survived the zinc poisoning. Coco Update. She is feeling much better and starting to act like her normal self again. Appetite is better. Much more active. Still despises taking her medicine and we probably have more weeks of it. I've never seen a bird hate a syringe as much as she does. Eye drops are no issue but she goes crazy when the syringe is close by. Go back Monday to have her eye ulcer checked. by @hickorynut1972

Coco Update: She is feeling better and is acting more like her old self. The CBC blood panel came back normal. It did show She has an infection, so added another antibiotic. She is on a chelation medicine. Zinc test came back negative. Waiting on the rest of the tests. Please continue to pray that the metal passes. Thanks for all your kind words and support. Need prayers for my little Coco. She is very sick. Somehow ingested a piece of metal. We are testing for metal toxicity. She is on antibiotics and another prescription to help with toxicity. We are hoping she will pass the metal because surgery at her age is very risky. I am devastated. by @hickorynut1972

I'm happy to say that Coco got good results from her ophthalmology recheck. Both eyes are stable. No changes, no infections, and no ulcers. Recheck in 6 months. Coco did great during the trip and visit. She is a real trooper. by @hickorynut1972

Tomorrow, Coco and I are making our annual pilgrimage to N.C.State for her ophthalmology checkup. I am praying she will have a perfect checkup. No cardiology checkup this trip. 🙂 by @hickorynut1972
