Excited to announce Amy Judd | Echoed Contours exhibition will be on display 6-8 June at 32 Connaught Street W2 and then continue online until the 12 July.

Opening Friday & Saturday 11 - 7pm
Sunday 11 - 5pm

2024 has seen big changes for the Hicks Gallery - we said good to our bricks & mortar shop, the hardest choice we’ve ever had to make but ultimately the right one for us as a family. I miss morning coffees with Jeffrey (my dad for those who don’t know) supplied by the brilliant staff at @dropshotcoffeeldn the daily waves from passing clients, chats with our neighbour and friend Richard Halliday and the general day to day life of being in a place that has always been a part of my life. Our artists who have supported us in our decision and been with us for so many years they have become friends, it would never have been possible without you all - connecting your work with people and seeing how your work transforms a house into a home will always be the greatest part of this job!! We are still open online and available for home and office consultations but here’s to the next chapter - details coming soon 🙌🏻 by @hicksgallery

NEW WORK FROM AMY JUDD | For subscribers to our mailing list details for these and three and other original works will be hitting your inboxes tomorrow evening at 7pm GMT. As well as a new limited edition print just in time for Christmas! They will then all be live on the website from Friday 6th December.

Amy Judd evokes the atmospheric world of the Brontë sisters in this small scale tryptic. The feathered headdresses, shaped like traditional bonnets, symbolize themes of isolation, femininity, and the interplay between nature and identity. The soft, tactile quality of the feathers contrasts with the subdued, shadowy backgrounds, drawing the viewer’s focus to the delicate balance of concealment and expression in the figures’ partial anonymity.

Judd’s decision to work on a smaller canvas heightens the intimacy of these pieces, allowing the viewer to engage closely with the intricate textures and details. The blue ribbons, tying the feathered bonnets in place, add a subtle note of vulnerability and restraint, echoing the complex emotional landscapes found in the Brontë sisters’ works. After almost 4 decades we are leaving our wonderful Wimbledon gallery and moving online while we search for a new location which we hope to announce in early 2025.

We are so grateful to all our incredible artists and clients who have supported us throughout our time in Wimbledon - THANK YOU!

This Saturday 28th will be our last trading day from Wimbledon, join us for one final farewell with drinks served 11 - 5pm.

We will continue to offer home consultations services and are now able to expand the area we cover to include London, Surrey and Sussex.

We look forward to sharing our next phase with you and hope you will continue to follow us and our artists in this next chapter.
