"It wasn't even a wave. It was a Black woman tsunami in Fulton County." My now viral quote in the @ajcnews article by @gregbluestein

Here is what happened:
#Blackwomen showed up and showed out on the ballot #Tuesday in #Georgia. From @keishabottoms all the way down the ballot, Black women won big or led their races. In Fulton County, the tsunami overtook 3 incumbents, including 2 of mine, something that hasn't happened to me in more than a decade, if at all. In fact, as @saidcedra reported, FIVE incumbent metro Atlanta judges fell to Black women challengers- a first ever.

While the Supreme Court effort did not bear fruit for Democrats, the overall environment, the money and the ads created an anti incumbent mood. Black women ran and won.

Wow!
Being selected as a member Leadership Georgia's Best Class Ever (2022) was one of the biggest honors I've received. I gained more than I could ever give- knowledge, friendships, the unbreakable bonds- but I've tried to pay it forward.

Today is my father's #birthday, so it was important to me to spend time with him at his grave. Tbh, it's the first time in many years that I've "been with" him on this day- it may be the first time since he passed 20 years ago.
There was a sense of urgency in this visit. Maybe it is a longing inspired by renovating/remodeling the house. Either way, I now understand the verse that says not even death can separate us from the love of God. My love for my father is deeper now, 20 years later, than ever and it was strong then.

2024: Harris lost Georgia by 115,000 votes.
2025: Democrats won two Public Service Commission seats.

I did a first today. I bought #pecans from the store. I didnt even know such a thing was possible until I was like 19 or 20. Why? Because I'm from South Georgia where you just go in your grandma's /family member/neighbor's yard and get what you want. It's a standard gift you give/mail.
Here I am...buying them. Clearly, I've forgotten where I come from. These chocolate ones are good! Smh.
