“Fun” fact: my partner almost died from a rattlesnake bite in his early 20’s. An accidental bite to the hand on a job site from a hidden Mojave rattlesnake. While most rattlesnake bites end in survival (over 99% in the U.S.), hearing the stories of those who have gone through a bite, say it’s a pain they don’t wish on their worst enemy. What a coincidence he ended up dating the local rattlesnake woman 😉 we’re ready to SAVE THE SNAKES! Always defensive, never aggressive…The Mojave rattlesnake is one of my most frequently called-for species to relocate. We live in their home and MUST be aware and respectful of what their existence contributes to the ecosystem. The Mojave Rattlesnake is both predator and prey in the desert, necessary for the survival of the desert ecosystem. They are simply trying to survive. They are hot. They are thirsty. Our homes provide water and shade. They don’t want to be around humans, but resources for survival will attract all wildlife. It is not their fault that humans became an invasive species. Relocate, don’t terminate. Save the snakes 💜 change your perspective 🐍. Stay away and you’ll be ok! I am a professional wrangler and am experienced with up-close snake encounters. Rattlesnake under a truck hood!Now before anyone comes after me for my clothing, I was working an Airbnb job and forgot real pants. I didn’t care and neither did the construction crew. This slithery little speckled rattlesnake was going under the truck for some cool shade. When spooked by the truck owner, he climbed to the wheel well, and made his way all the way behind the headlight.Snakes in engine compartments stress me OUT! Not because I’m worried about my safety, but because the fate of the snake in a hot engine while driving...not going to end well. If I can’t remove it, well, workers need to go home! Luckily and skillfully, I was able to remove the snake, with everyone unharmed. Happy day!! Handling rattlesnakes may result in serious injury or death. A night I’ll never forget 💜 @billyfgibbons @zztopBilly pointing to me whilst onstage playing to tens of thousands of people🫠🥰 we met a few years ago when I was the snake wrangler on his music video set.Thank you @chadshlosser for making dreams come true, and being one of the sweetest humans alive. Yes, I’m holding hot sauce. Billy said it was the closest thing he could give me to rattlesnake venom, and then my heart exploded. The desert rattlesnakes I’m called to move, are mostly found around the water resources on the properties. Rattlers need water, too!! Our water sources are simply too tempting for all desert creatures. Stay extra mindful around your watery zones! This buddy, along with most the rattlesnakes I catch, happily chug chug chug some water before heading out to their new home. Relocate, don’t terminate💜 have compassion for life, it’s better that way. LEARN their behavior, learn how to catch and move them. Rattlesnakes are afraid of humans. It’s been proven over and over and over. I’m exhausted by the caveman wannabes, and hearing the same lame+violent comments by uneducated or stubborn people. If your first instinct is to kill something that could harm you, you need to rethink the world. Just because an animal can hurt us, doesn’t mean it deserves to die…even the endless men who come onto my page and DM’s spewing violence…I don’t come after ya’ll even though you’re a threat to my safety. Close your doors! You never know who may come slithering in to share your cooler indoor temperatures💜Rattlesnakes mean us no harm, and only bite when we get too close while they’re fearing for their safety. Like this woman learned firsthand today, staying still and calm prevented the snake from becoming scared and defending itself with a bite.
