🎃 HG HALLOWEEN 2 VS 2 OPEN STYLES BATTLE October 25 | 7:00–9:30 PM 📍 Gold Saucer Studio (The Dominion) 207 W Hastings St, Vancouver, BC DJ AJ on the decks. Judge TBA. Costumes strongly suggested for all battle dancers. We’re artists — come flex that creativity! Traditionally, you don’t battle at a battle you’re hosting… but we’re bending the rules a little. At HG, we’re opening our doors to get some rounds in, build our battle experience, meet our new Season 9 members, and share the floor. Some of our dancers have been battling for years, others are just stepping into it. Wherever you’re at, come get some rounds in, learn, connect, and level up with us in the Halloween spirit! SEASON 8 // HIP HOP FREESTYLE SERIES 🎥 Some dancers move well. Some dancers make you feel something. Trent is one of those artists. Their creativity, musicality, and authenticity shines through. Watching them continue to discover their voice this season has been a privilege. At Higher Ground, Hip Hop teacher Natasha Gorrie guides dancers through foundations, freestyle, musicality, and artistry, encouraging each dancer to discover and develop their own unique voice. Our final choreography drop from Season 8. Every season at Higher Ground, Hip Hop, Breaking, and Popping are the foundation of our training, while also exploring a variety of other street dance styles throughout the year. This piece highlights our Breaking training from Season 8. Whether our dancers came in with experience or were stepping into Breaking for the first time, everyone showed up ready to learn, challenge themselves, and grow. A look at one of our Season 8 video projects. ⚡️ Every year, our dancers come together to create choreography pieces that showcase the street dance styles we’ve been training all season. At Higher Ground, Popping, Hip Hop, and Breaking are the foundation of our training every season, while also exploring a variety of other street dance styles throughout the year. This piece was choreographed by one of our incredible Popping teachers Wesley @wazli_ . Some of our dancers came into this season with years of Popping experience, while for others it was their first time learning the style. No matter where they started, everyone committed to the process, pushed themselves, and grew. A huge shoutout to our other Popping GOAT, @brycekoebel , for sharing his knowledge, passion, and helping shape our dancers throughout the season. We’re so grateful to learn from teachers who continue to inspire us. Ready to take your street dance training to the next level? Higher Ground is a pre-professional and professional street dance training company for dancers who are serious about growth, artistry, and community. We’re looking for committed dancers with a positive mindset, a strong work ethic, and the hunger to keep improving. Our training focuses on Hip Hop, Breaking, and Popping, while also exposing dancers to other street styles throughout the season. As a Higher Ground company member, you’ll be expected to: • Train consistently and put in work outside of scheduled classes. • Be actively involved in the street dance community. • Compete in battles throughout the season (mandatory). • Represent Higher Ground with positivity, and respect. • Travel and battle together as a company at the end of the season. This program is designed for dancers with existing training who are ready to commit to the next stage of their journey. SEASON 8 ISN’T DONE YET. ❤️🔥 What a way to close out this chapter together. Our season may officially be over, but we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than traveling together, sharing this experience, and stepping into the battle scene as a family. This weekend at One For The City, Higher Ground split into two crews... and we’re so proud to say both crews battled their way through prelims and into today’s Top 8! 🔥 No matter what happens today, making it here together is already something to celebrate. Watching everyone support one another, step outside their comfort zones, and represent everything we’ve built this season reminds us what Higher Ground is all about. Two crews. Top 8.
