This Veterans Day, 11/11, we honor the life and legacy of Daron Cathey, a proud Navy Veteran and the inspiration behind Higher Than Health Wellness Charity. Though Daron lost his battle with diabetes, his fight was never just for himself—he believed sincerely in helping others face their own health challenges. His passion for service lives on through our work, offering education, resources, and support to those battling diabetes and other healthcare issues.Daron loved bringing people together and building community wherever he went. As we continue his mission, we carry forward that same spirit—empowering others to live healthier, stronger lives. 🌟 Meet Dr. Dasha L. Cathey, Founder of Higher Than Health Wellness Charity 🌟

I wanted to share the heartfelt story behind Higher Than Health. While in pharmacy school, I taught my late father, Daron R. Cathey, vital health education, which he shared with friends and those he met. Seeing how this information motivated them to take control of their health ignited a deep passion in me to serve others and address health disparities in underserved communities.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to bridge healthcare gaps by providing health education, resources, and support. From wellness events to access to medical services, healthier meal options, and nutritious recipes, we’re committed to empowering individuals to lead healthier lives.

At Higher Than Health, we are a dedicated team of healthcare professionals—mental health pharmacists, diabetes education specialists, prior authorization pharmacists, and preceptor pharmacists—working together to make a difference in the communities we serve.

🌻 Hosted 7 Wellness Sunday Events with 20–45 participants each
📈 Watched attendance grow from 20 to 45 (+125%)
🤝 Reached ~230 community members with consistency, love, and education

And together, we built powerful partnerships with:

• Opulent Health – Dr. Jamecia Finnie
• Baylor Scott & White
• Neoteric Resuscitation – Raymond Walker
• A Peace of Mine – Carlese Austin
• GirlBreathe – Jazmine Hawkins, LPC
• Dallas Emotional Health – Dr. Dennis Burchette, PhD
• Headway – Dr. Curtis Hill, EdD, LPC

And behind the scenes, our team leveled up in organization, planning, leadership — and yes, money management — to prepare for an even stronger year ahead.
