Riverside Stronger is proud to be home to UCR’s collegiate boxing team, Highlander Gloves. @highlandergloves

Led and trained by Coach Israel @israelssalgado Highlander Gloves brings together UCR students who are serious about learning the sport, competing, and continuing to develop as fighters.

Under Israel’s leadership, the team recently earned UCR’s first USIBA first-place finish in over 15 years.

We’re proud to give Highlander Gloves a place to train and a place they can call home. 🥊

Last night was the realization of a dream I’ve been chasing for years.

First and foremost, thank you to my coach for believing in me, pushing me every day, and preparing me for this moment. Thank you to my corner for everything you did behind the scenes and for keeping me composed when it mattered most. Thank you to my family, teammates, friends, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. None of this would have been possible without you.

Our 25-26 boxing season has come to a close. With many difficult challenges and opponents, we faced each and every single one of them with bravery. We had opponents from amazing schools; UCLA, USC, Seattle, Stanford, UNR, others colleges across the nation and several local amateur shows. We had many victories and many losses, but no matter what we held our heads up high with love and humility for the sport we are blessed to participate in. Our season didn’t start and end with USIBA. We fought our hearts out throughout the year with other college and amateur shows. We’re fortunate enough to show the world what makes Highlander gloves special and the amazing skills of our fighters. Thank you to all the colleges and gyms that gave us the amazing opportunity to participate. We’ll see you all again next year. #collegeboxing #colligateboxing #UCR by @highlandergloves
