Is your soap leaving your skin dry?

That tight, dry feeling after washing? It might not be your skin. It could be what you're washing it with.

Many mass-produced cleansing products use detergents such as SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) to create a rich, foamy lather. While effective at removing dirt and oils, these stronger cleansers can also strip away some of the skin's natural oils, leaving skin feeling dry and tight.

Traditional soap is made differently. 🌿

Our handmade soaps are made using the traditional cold-process method, where natural oils and butters are carefully combined with lye to create soap.

And here's the beautiful part…

Glycerine is naturally created during this process; and we leave it in the bar.

Glycerine is a natural humectant, helping to attract and hold moisture on the skin.

In some large-scale soap manufacturing processes, glycerine is recovered separately because it is a valuable ingredient used in cosmetics, skincare and other products.

At Highland Soap Company, we believe in keeping things simple: carefully selected oils, rich natural butters and the naturally occurring glycerine created during the soap-making process.

A proper clean, without that stripped-back feeling. 🤍
