I have a hard time letting go of shit sometimes. Sooooo I have to visualize a feeling as a physical thing/ color/ or texture so I can pull it out or BREAK IT OFF me!! Saying it while doing any movement you choose.

It’s taken me a minute to make a tribute to Dolly because I don’t know what I could say that hasn’t been said. As a fellow Appalachian woman I was raised with Dolly sprinkled through out my whole childhood and even still.

This week in 2017 I was privileged enough to have my film debut in the movie @dumplin.movie A beautiful project that the Queen herself was a major part of. She and Jennifer Aniston and the amazing Anne Fletcher helped hand pick me for the character of Aunt Lucy. Dolly wrote the whole sound track. Plus the entire movie was based on her. And my character sharing the love and confidence Dolly inspired in so many of us with my darling niece. Go watch it if you haven’t!!

Here are some behind the scenes of the “Dolly Room” I would have give anything to play in as a kid. Hell- I’d play dress up In there now!

In 2018 I went to LA for the red carpet premiere of the film. I missed the red carpet upon arrival and had to rewind backwards down 3 giant flights of stairs and through a whole crowd of people to find myself on the red carpet standing right next to Dolly Parton! I was overwhelmed! The red carpet was nothing like I imagined it to be and without thinking I said, “Lord, is it always like this?!”
She turned, looked at me, squeezed my elbow and said, “Just keep smiling!”

This was the only ten minutes she was there the whole night. If I hadn’t made a mistake and had to come back down I would have missed her completely.
So- this is how I will honor her- Thank you for your kindness and all the seeds you planted in this world! I will continue everyday to be exactly who I am and do it on purpose.

And through it all I’ll just keep smiling!

Yall!! This weekend was my Willowversary! One year ago I was a much different version of myself than who I am today. I have never experienced love the way I have reveled in with this angel!

I was lying in my bed at 7:30 AM August 28. My dear and sweet friend brought her me to and sat her on my chest. I don’t know if he knew how much in that very moment he was helping heal part of my soul.

As most of you know- I have never been a pet person. Or too much of a creature person at all. I’ve always been a “people person” person. In this past year a people child never show the love you get from a dog. Not no man, no friend, nor my mama has ever made me feel loved like Willow. And don’t get me wrong. I know it’s because I feed her… but I’m grateful she chooses me.

I’ve had a lot of ups, downs, and upside downs since last August and for the next how ever many August’s we have together- me Willow gon ride!!! ❤️ by @highlarrious

With all@the hot dog business yesterday I didn’t post about another important honor of July 25!! AMANDA AND HILLIARY DAY!!! 16 years ago we hyper jumped timelines of besties in one afternoon with “Bojangles, and bottle of Beam, and a bag of green!”
