No job. No structure. Fully romanticising my feminine rest era. And then he said he wasn’t going to pay. Turns out that’s all I needed to grow some balls.

I came back from Russia completely depleted. Every bit of mental, physical, emotional energy gone. So I rested. I leaned on my mum. And I decided 2025 was the year to try something different: less work, more femininity, more focus on love and family and what I actually wanted.

I had two short relationships. Tried on new behaviours, new standards, new ways of being. Tested them: against my own values, against how they made me feel, against how a man responded to them.

One of them told me he wasn’t going to financially support me, which went against what I thought I valued. Interestingly, it was exactly this moment that invited me to truly analyse - what IS IT in that situation that I did and did not value..

I’d done this before. Universe, then a man. Different face, same resignation.

So I made a decision. I spent the whole year focused on relating, to see what was actually true for me about family and love, on my own terms.

A creator takes responsibility. And sometimes that means spending a whole year figuring out what you’re actually creating toward. by @highmashion

I went to Moscow for two weeks.

I stayed for four months.

I thought I was going to heal my father wound.

For years, it had shaped everything: hyper-independence, difficulty trusting men, constantly feeling like I had to earn love and support.

Back in Moscow, I started working with my father. I shared ideas, and eventually he made me Vice President of the foundation.

I finally felt seen.

Until I realized I had the title, but none of the authority.

Slowly, I stopped being a grown woman and became the teenager again - the one still waiting for her father’s approval.

It never came.

When I left, I was blamed for everything that followed.

But distance gave me the lesson I had gone there to find.

I don’t have to achieve, perform, or prove anything to deserve love.

I don’t have to earn my place as his daughter.

My father’s journey is his.

Mine is learning to receive what he can give, instead of grieving what he can’t.

Acceptance isn’t saying everything was perfect.

It’s realizing that love doesn’t always arrive in the form we were hoping for.

And sometimes, that’s enough. taken in Moscow, Russia by @highmashion

I came back from Bali knowing the big events just weren’t IT.

I wanted to create smaller ones with bigger impact.

Women’s circles. Cacao ceremonies. Spaces where people could breathe, reconnect, and leave different from how they arrived.

The events were beautiful.

The rest of the month - not so much..

There was no event, no income, and my parents were helping cover my rent. I kept telling myself that if I created enough good, the money would somehow follow.

It didn’t.

I confused trust with avoiding responsibility. I was waiting for abundance instead of building it.

Now I see the difference.

Faith isn’t expecting the universe to do the work for you.

Faith is showing up fully, refining your craft, taking responsibility and trusting that your effort has somewhere to land.

Even though I wasn’t making money, I found something more valuable.

I stopped chasing recognition and became clear about who I wanted to serve.

For me, feminine empowerment isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room.

It’s about helping one woman remember her own capacity and watching that change everything she builds afterward.

That was the beginning of a new identity. The one who serves. by @highmashion

I used to think rest was something you earned.

Turns out, the only way I ever gave myself permission to rest was by burning out first.

I realized that in Bali.

After months of pushing through Saudi Arabia, I finally stopped. At first, it felt amazing. Then came the boredom. The guilt. The question I couldn’t ignore:

If I’m not being productive… what am I worth?

That’s when I saw the pattern.

I never chose rest. I waited until my body forced it.

Now I know better.

Rest isn’t the reward after the hard work.

It’s part of the hard work.

The best ideas arrive in the quiet—in the shower, on a walk, in the space between doing.

You don’t have to wait until your body says “enough.”

You were allowed to rest the whole time. by @highmashion

I had a driver. My expenses were covered. I was meeting government officials and members of royal families.

And I was sleeping in a windowless basement, eating takeout every day, surviving on stress.

A year earlier, I had been cleaning toilets at Tomorrowland.

Saudi was my first experience producing large-scale events. I took on any responsibility I was delegated, until the festival day when I realised that I had unknowingly been doing the work of ten people.

On the way to site after a presentation, I had my first panic attack.

I arrived expecting chaos.

Everything was fine.

The real cost only hit me months later, back in Portugal. That’s when I realized how much my nervous system had been carrying.

The biggest lesson wasn’t that I could handle it.

It was that I didn’t have to.

There’s a difference between what you’re capable of carrying and what you should carry.

For years, I filled that gap trying to prove myself.

I don’t anymore.

Because the truth is: if something happened tomorrow, the work would continue.

What people remember isn’t how many crises you solved or how late you stayed.

They remember how you made them feel.

So before you push yourself to the edge to prove your value, ask yourself:

Who are you trying to convince? taken in Riyadh - Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia by @highmashion

I was five years old the first time I walked a runway.

Then I moved countries, heard years of “no,” and quietly gave up on the dream.

After Tomorrowland, I asked myself one question: What would I regret not trying?

The answer was modeling. “I’m not getting any younger, right?”

I gave myself six months in London.

No job. Running out of money. Sleeping wherever I could. Walking into agency after agency, hearing the same thing: too short, too big, not our type.

Eventually I stopped taking it personally. The “no’s” became numbers. I only needed one “yes.”

So I kept going.

Months after emailing every brand I could find, one invited me to walk at London Fashion Week.

Standing backstage, I wasn’t thinking about whether I deserved to be there.

I knew I did.

Not because I was the most beautiful girl in the room, but because I had earned that moment by refusing to quit.

That’s what chasing a dream really looks like.

Give yourself a deadline. Believe in it enough to keep showing up. And make peace with the possibility that it might not happen.

Because the person you become while going after it is already worth the journey. by @highmashion

I thought I was going backstage at Tomorrowland.

Instead, I was cleaning toilets.

I’d sold my festival ticket, flown from Portugal, and arrived to tents, cold showers, and thousands of beds and bathrooms to clean. Leaving wasn’t an option.

So I focused on what I could control.

I started organizing, solving problems, and making myself useful beyond my job description. When I asked for better conditions, my supervisor listened.

A few days later, I was moved to the team cleaning the Tomorrowland mansions—the festival’s most exclusive accommodation. A year later, that same manager offered me a job in Lisbon.

The biggest lesson wasn’t about hard work.

It was about dignity.

I watched people spend €50,000 on a weekend and still ignore the people cleaning their rooms. I realized that status means very little if you don’t treat people with kindness.

And I learned something else: people can’t meet needs you never express.

Ask.

More often than not, the answer is yes.

Confidence isn’t pretending you’re bigger than you are. It’s believing you’re worthy of taking up space before anyone else confirms it. by @highmashion

I was working from a tent in Tomorrowland, handling the marketing for a cocktail brand, showing up every day—but always trying to earn my place in a space where I was never fully seen.

I began dating one of the co-founders, hoping things would shift—less micromanagement, more trust, more space for my ideas and skills to be respected. Instead, everything became more emotionally entangled and more unclear.

What it really showed me is how conditional my self-belief had become. I was doing more and more, hoping effort would turn into validation. That praise would eventually become proof of my worth.

At the same time, I started noticing something I had been ignoring: I was promoting and building a product designed to make people feel less—and I could no longer align with that.

There was no master plan. Just a quiet decision to start stepping out of what didn’t feel true anymore.

So I left the relationship. I left the team. I left the industry.

Not because everything was wrong—but because I could no longer ignore what my body already knew.

Now I understand: integrity doesn’t always arrive as a big decision. Sometimes it starts as a feeling you finally stop overriding. by @highmashion
