Once a year, the people who make High Point grow and go round, convene at High Point University for the State of the City, a lunch presentation hosted by HP's Chamber of Commerce, Business High Point. There were some very encouraging stats shared by Mayor Cyril Jefferson, along with plans for the city that include a new community green space. Also a trove of new job creation (14,500 to be exact) courtesy of Jet Zero's new Greensboro campus-to-be, which will no doubt have impact on High Point businesses and of course, this influx of population in the region will need homes and home furnishings. Journalist Hannah Ray covered the State of the City, and so eloquently captured the highlights and key takeaways for High Point Discovered. Read the full story at link in bio. HERE WE GO…for the next few weeks, our IG feed will pretty much be exclusively devoted to the upcoming Fall Market, as there is always so much to share.⁠ ⁠ First stop: Chelsea on Green, a very large antiques, vintage and art emporium that continually leads the festivities at Market with their opening night preview party, October 13 from 5-9. On any given weekend in High Point, you can feel the uptick in the number of visitors hunting and gathering for vintage, antiques and original art. There’s certainly a full days worth of sites here, and all no more than a few minutes apart with plenty of parking. The offering has gotten so plentiful and downright fun that @visithighpoint has even put together a suggested itinerary for “vintage and antiques lovers” featuring some of the High Point destinations. To their list, which includes our members Golden Oldies and Chelsea on Green plus Boxwood, Tinkersmith Trading and Stacks, I would add Cohab Space and 214 Modern (which is open at certain times throughout the year on Saturday and by appointment) and our Habitat store. The story begins: "About seven years ago, on my first trip to KBIS, I became aware of a blonde force of energy I would come to know as “V.” Designers hung on her every word, then swirled around her afterward, eager for a moment of her time. Many called themselves Designhounds, members of the influential community Veronika Miller had created.
