I ❤️ the cracks in Plymouth's pavements. They are so incredibly biodiverse. Besides the flowering Dog Violet, this one patch had Pellitory of the Wall, Common Chickweed, Annual Meadow Grass, a Dandelion and a baby Sycamore tree all within a few inches of each other. taken in Mutley Plain by @higmanroger

Not many of you outside Plymouth met my brother, Joe. If you did, you might be interested in the following.

Remembering Joe Higman

Joe’s funeral service will be held at 12.30pm on the 21st of April 2023, in the Chapel at Ford Park Cemetery. We will hold a humanist service, open to all, followed by a short private burial attended by his family. Tea and coffee will be served in the Visitors Centre after the service. We are also holding a wake/folk session the same evening at 7pm at the Fortescue Pub on Mutley Plain, to which you are all welcome.

The service will be about 45 minutes, and will consist of personal tributes, music, and moments of reflection, led by a humanist celebrant. Dress Code: Joe was never one for conformity and wouldn’t want to start now. Please wear whatever feels comfortable and reminds you of him. Woodland colours, gothic Morris/Folk and hats are all encouraged.

Flowers: no flowers please. We will be collecting donations for Devon Wildlife Trust after the service.

The Venue: The cemetery is located on Ford Park Road, a short walk from Mutley Plain, Central Park and Plymouth Train Station. Look for the main (middle) gate, which is halfway up the hill.
