We celebrated my beautiful daughter Ayah turning 6 this weekend, as our friends @freewalidfamily are trapped in the G strip they baked a cake a celebrated with us from afar. I literally will never have the words to describe how special this it to me and Ayah, to have these incredible friends thinking of us and praying for my family while they survive the unimaginable. I am also so so happy they found ingredients to bake a cake - made by my soul sister Tahreer who is the most incredible woman and mother.
Ayah had just turned 3 when this all started, and Waleed and Tahreer’s youngest son Sanad was only just 2, he can’t remember a time living before this war 💔 the other day he was crying because he wanted a bike so badly. I wish these guys would have every big and small thing they ever wanted.
I love you all so much 🥹❤️‍🩹

Summer, approximately. One of a few paintings of Otto I’ve completed lately. I can’t resist.

This one took a few sittings, for drying time. I started with a few undercoat colours, scumbled a lot of greens, applied a few glazes. Fun one to paint.

Happy to be showing for the first time at the RA Summer Show 2026. Even more pleased that my piece selected is this one honouring Sulala Animal Rescue - the only organisation in the Gaza Strip that rescues stray animals. Any sales proceeds will be donated to them @sulalaanimalrescue

Palestine Sunbird. The male is famous for its metallic blue green coat whilst the female has subtle greys, prioritising survival over show. It was declared the national bird of Palestine in 2015 after Israel’s failed attempt to rename it.

Although officially listed as “Least Concern”, it is increasingly endangered by settler colonial violence which has devastated orchards, the wadi Gaza, and much of the ecosystems in the Strip.

A poignant symbol of freedom and resilience.
