MEET THE TEAM 👋 🥁
Michael - OG Apprentice (self proclaimed senior)

⚡ Role at HIJ: 2nd Year Apprentice
🛠️ Favourite type of job: His job (apparently)
☕ Coffee order: nil, Vanilla Coke or a cheeky purple V
😄 Fun fact: He loves Landcruisers (👻)

Have you met Michael?
Michael loves his car (pictured). He drives a Mitsubishi triton and it is his pride and joy. (Hehehehehe) All jokes aside, Michael loves his Land Cruiser, hanging out with his gorj gf and working on his car to be honest doing what 18yos do.

Michael came to us when we first were hiring for an apprentice over a year ago, he’s been with us since August last year and we honestly couldn’t imagine the team without him. Sometimes Michael needs a little guidance but he hit the ground running, with a can do attitude and always gives his all. Michael was finishing his trade school cert when he called Jacob, we thought why not (after we’d held a bunch of interviews), picking an apprentice was HARD. Some great candidates, great kids, looking for an opportunity but Michael stood out the most. He was articulate, persistent and polite, plus he had a good sense of humour, we knew he’d hit the ground running. Michael reminds us all of our age from his stories 😂😭

Michael has genuinely said he loves his job with us and how genuinely lucky he feels to have great bosses, he was worried about how life would look as an apprentice when he first started applying. So anyway, now he gets roasted even on Ig message😭😂

If you see Michael, say gday, but don’t keep him chatting too long 🫩 Make sure he’s brought his lunch and has had water!!! He’s a hard worker and we love being a part of his career journey! Michael has had a broad dip of experience so far from appliances, general resi maintenance to major Reno’s, commercial projects/ shop fit outs, sheds, pole upgrades and so on. We always try to ensure our apprentices get the most support and direction as well as our team overall.

Thanks for being you Michael and such a good sport. 🫡

MEET THE TEAM 👋
Olivia (LIV) - owner

⚡ Role at HIJ: Business Manager/co- Director
🛠️ Favourite type of job: An early finish
☕ Coffee order: Iced Caramel Latte (LF)
😄 Fun fact: Loves to bake, self taught

Have you met Liv?
Meet Liv! Our Business Manager. It’s me, hi, I’m Liv. I do all the ground work for hiring, admin, processes, payroll, book keeping; you name it. I have an extensive background of 14+ years in recruitment, hr admin, customer service and secretarial work. Did I mention i left all that and became an Electrical TA? (Thanks Jacob) and project admin, which led us here. All the behind the scenes stuff that keeps the wheels turning. My main motivator for HIJ was creating the freedom where life, family and work could come together. Where Jacob could run all his crazy ideas and I could create an environment where people felt like they belonged to a bigger picture, enjoy coming to work and customers can trust our service. I and we are always looking at growing individually and professionally. As a SAHM juggling young kids and being a business owner, it sure does have its challenges but I’m so grateful for our little village and the patience/ kindness from our team and customers. Starting a family and a business 4+yrs ago was possibly the wildest thing we could’ve done, in the midst of it all but boy am I glad we did.

I grew up in Daisy Hill and truly have an addiction to sweet treats and a delicious meals, life is about balance. Ask me for restaurant recos, I won’t hesitate. You damn well know if we have a team meeting there will be treats, food or coffees. I never hesitate to treat our staff when it comes to birthdays, or holidays. Chocolate is always involved! In my spare time I’m pretty much exactly like Jacob, I love family time, my kids, getting away (the only time Jacob really switches off) and I find it therapeutic cooking delicious food.

You’ll find me (probably) bouncing around like a pinball machine or in the office, (likely in the community pages), onsite getting content or on the 📞. I’m always approachable, love a bit of banter; a laugh and truly don’t take myself too seriously. If you’re after a sparky you can trust, g taken in Rochedale, Queensland, Australia by @hijelectrical

MEET THE TEAM 👋
JACOB -owner est. 2022
⚡ Role at HIJ: Electrical Director
🛠️ Favourite type of job: Anything well organised
☕ Coffee order: T/A Caramel Latte
😄 Fun fact: loves a manicure (iykyk)

Have you met Jacob?
Meet Jacob! Our Electrical Director, an easy going guy with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has been in the Electrical industry for 12yrs and always learning/ furthering his knowledge, trying to find better solutions and diversify his skills. His leading motivator for creating HIJ Electrical was to create an environment where his love for his work and also his family could come together. Jacob has always been a sound board of advice and a point of call for word of mouth referrals, so he thought, why not start a business of our own, a place where people can belong, a positive work environment with a range of works and be able to curate and power projects / homes safely. His leading motivator is and has always been a fair and honest service, he loves to look after his customers and team; he will always go the extra mile.

Jacob grew up in Rochedale, has an unhealthy addiction to buying tools, in his spare time he loves to watch the footy, smoke meats, bbq, enjoy a few beers, spend time with his family, camp and go on holidays; plus also complain about the sweet treats his wife (Liv) always brings home. Basically your typical millennial 30 something year old male except he is fluent in sarcasm and dad jokes. Jacob also can’t sit still, loves a DIY project and won’t take no as an answer.

You’ll find Jacob on site, meeting and greeting customers, he will always welcome a phone call, questions from his team or new leads. He’s friendly, prompt and meticulous, you will also likely find him with a new manicure because he can’t say no to his daughters 💅, so if you see him with pink nails, I assure you, he can never say no. If you see Jacob around, say hey, he loves a yarn, he loves a sweet treat and loves to talk about how the broncos are absolutely killing it this season 🤡 🤠 😂😭

If you’re after a local sparky, someone you can trust and will always be in your corner, give us a call. 💅🏻

Rochedale! We’re moving in!

Jacob & Liv here, HIJ Electrical owners. 👋🏻

After 4 years working out of our home/shed we finally took the leap into our own space, family friendly of course, the joys of running a family run business. What more would you want than popping the newborn bubble with a new office/ work space? 👌🏻😂

We look forward to bringing this space to life, a functional place for our growing team, a place for collaboration, storage (Liv is stoked to not have truck deliveries at our home anymore) and finally our new HIJ home.

Thank you to all of our clients for the ongoing support and putting your trust into us for your projects, whether it’s your home or business! We’re trying to get better with social posts, though we’ve been very busy with work through referrals and word of mouth; and of course our growing young family. We both grew up from Daisy Hill to Rochedale so making this our business home just made sense.

As we continue to grow we will always strive to remain, HIJ Electrical, your local trusted Electricians; always in your corner! Call us today, 0499 299 312 or enquire via our website/ DM. No project is too big or too small.

We love working alongside other local businesses and small businesses, plus we always get asked for referrals! If you want to network please reach out 🤝🏼

Big love and appreciation from Jacob & Liv, we look forward to this next chapter!
