When the rain makes the walk even better

Me and Alfie went for an explore earlier this week to The Hermitage in Dunkeld, the weather wasn’t perfect but it definitely adds to the atmosphere of the area when it’s like that. Will never get bored of visiting this place, and at this time of year it’s even more special🍂

We’ve been on some journey, thanks for being a part of it🫶🏼

2 years ago I started sharing my posts on here, never in a million years did I think we’d have reached as many people as we have. Truly grateful for all the love that you’ve shown us, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of our adventures with you all⛰️

Missing this so much just now🥲⛰️

For anyone that’s missed stories I’ve posted over the past month or so, I’ve not been able to get out on the munros with Alfie after doing my knee playing football. Spent a few weeks on crutches followed by trying to do as little as possible.

I had my first physio session today and things are looking positive, managed to get out a good walk with Alfie for the first time at the weekend there too but I’ve been pretty gutted about it, especially with hiking and football being my two main things… and still not being sure the length of time it’ll be before I can get back out. Feel bad for Alfie as well, he must be wondering what’s going on with all these boring walks lately😅

It does feel better each week though and hopefully that continues. Start rehab proper after I get my MRI this weekend which, fingers crossed, should give the all clear that I’ve not done any serious tears to my ligaments. Trying to take the ‘it is what it is’ approach but I can’t lie, it has been tough.

I know that first hike back will be unreal and I can’t wait for that! Followed by getting back on track to finally completing my munro round. Appreciated all the replies to my stories too, it means a lot🫶🏼

You won’t come back feeling the same💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I’ve taken a trip to the Isle of Skye at least once a year out of the last 6, and still only scratched the surface of it. It’s a such a special place and definitely up there as one of my favourite areas to explore in Scotland⛰️

#AD A bond like no other🐕⛰️

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to properly put into words just how much Alfie means to me. He’s quite literally my shadow, and when you spend that much time together, especially with all the adventures we go on, that bond you have only gets deeper.

@heartofthebeast is obviously a very different kind of adventure to the ones me and Alfie usually get up to. It follows Brad Pitt (James Belmont) and his dog Odin, as they’re stranded in the Alaskan wilderness and have to fight their way through some seriously unforgiving terrain to survive.

This film is incredible, and even though our adventures might not be quite at Brad Pitt levels of wilderness survival😅… there’s definitely something about the relationship at the heart of the story that I can relate to, and I’m sure a lot of you will too.

Heart of the Beast, out in cinemas September 23 🎬
