Don’t let the price of the viral Fujifilm put you off getting into photography. I bought this second-hand X-E3 a few weeks ago, second-hand, and I’m in love. No edits, all of these are straight from the camera.

The best camera is the one you have with you. 🫶

It’s beautiful how life brings you flowers 🌼
What started as an Instagram friendship became a real-life one, and somehow we ended up spending this golden evening together with our little ones, wearing @thesimplefolkco.

These photographs are such a gift. I’m so grateful to have these moments captured on film. ✨

Bringing in the last of summer. 🍅

There’s a quiet comfort in the knowledge that everything moves in seasons. A reminder that not everything is ours to control, and that some things we must simply learn to lean into.

To gather what we can, to let go when the time comes, and to trust that the seasons will turn again.

A little summer left to ripen. 🤎

If there’s one thing I’m repeatedly reminded of on this journey of motherhood, it’s that everything is easier outside. No matter how hard the day, getting outside is the best thing you can do. Mama Earth has a way of grounding us, regulating us, and nurturing us when we need it most. 🤎

My baby is starting gaining the courage to take some steps outside now and it’s so special to see this new season of his life 🌞

The algorithm might not like this, but I hope you do.

I don’t think I want a niche, I think I want room.

The mist was beginning to lift
when we arrived.

Morning autumn light caught
the tall, strong birch
and turned it gold.

As clear as day,
yet somehow hidden
within the wild hedgerow, behind.

With a crunch,
my car found the tree
and the metal gave way.

And the years fell away.
I was small again.
The little girl
who had learned to be careful.
To close doors gently.
To touch things softly.
To leave no mark.

And there he was,
A fog of heavy red glare,
hanging over my head.
Sharp words like knives
cutting in the silence.

As if the smallest scratch
or chip of paint
mattered more
than the invisible wounds
left by words and rage,
the ones I would carry
long after.

His cars are long gone now.
Another has taken their place.

He doesn’t know where they are,
or I.

And still, for those fleetingly weighty moments,
I was frightened again,
of the damage
done to something
that was never more precious
than that little girl was.

The urge to undo,
to restore everything
to how it was before.

But the morning carried on.
We were somewhere new.
The land unfamiliar,
the trees unknown.

And we were welcomed,
just as we were.
We sang around the campfire
to the birds and the trees.

The children ran.
People laughed.

And slowly
I found my way back.

Back to the car,
still dented, but lit by the sun.
Still the car
that tentatively brought my baby home.

The car that carries my children
to the woods to sing,
paddle in the river,
build castles in the sand,
and wander over the moors.

It carries friends,
muddy clothes,
bags and tired bodies,
and all the little pieces
of our life.

That is what it is for.
Not to remain untouched,
but to carry us
into our lives.

One day this car will be gone.
Maybe next year.
Maybe in ten.

One day it will be
a crushed-up cube of metal.

But the tree will still be here.

Long after the car.
Long after us.

I wonder sometimes
what we might have kept
if we had not been taught
to be so afraid of marks.

Not just on things.
On each other.

We never completely
lose our roots.

We just keep growing
around them.

And we stretch into our branches
a little more every time
we allow ourselves to leave a mark.

We kept missing the golden light today. It was fleeting, and somehow we never quite managed to capture it as beautifully as it felt.

But it didn’t matter ~ this place has always felt special. We came here so often when we were awaiting our first boy, to escape the noise of everyday life and find a little quiet.

And now we’re here with them both. One running ahead, his wildfire curls blowing in the wind, and the other held tight.

Some places just keep becoming more special as life changes around them. 🌊🍂

Wrapped in my old and trusty @thesimplefolkco cardigan which has held me through two pregnancies & postpartums 🥺✨

October is always a turning point. A new season, cooler mornings, golden afternoon light, and another season of life with these two. I’m trying to remember to slow down enough to notice it all. 🍂🧡

I don’t think I’ve lived a more perfectly autumnal day. Picking, washing, cutting and pressing apples from the orchard at our beautiful garden school group. A trip to the farm shop, then a walk around the golden estate with a warm drink and two blonde little boys asleep in the car on the way home. Blissful. 🍂🌞
