Slow fashion vs luxury fashion

In this poor, aching world were living right now, we’re being flooded by extreme richness (coincidence? I think not)
*
Social media is a platform where you choose how you want to be perceived. So when your choice is displaying a steady flow of personal wealth, I think that is both vulgar and tone-deaf.
*
It doesn’t take talent to create an outfit if you can shop a whole look at (say) Dior. And I’m not impressed if you can unwrap yet another Chanel-bag or a rare elephant(!) version of the Birkin bag, in front of your followers. I’m shocked.
*
It shows your only concern is to spend your money for attention, where you could instead be helping numerous people to a better life, with the amount you spend on just one bag.
*
Im here to oppose the sick fashion business, but still encourage style and confidence
*
I say: be striking, but choose a secondhand dress.
*
Sew your own dream outfit.
*
Redesign (or hand it to your tailor) when it when it doesn’t feel right
*
Cultivate YOUR style so that your clothes lift you up, without any overconsumption
*
Let’s make living right count in here.
When looking good aligns with consciousness, both you and the planet wins 🎉♻️

Joyful fashion vs quiet luxury.
*
As a woman in my fifties, some (many) would say I’m supposed to behave a certain way and dress
accordingly.
*
By now I should have adopted a certain quiet class that means avoiding loud colors, short
hemlines and clashing prints.
*
Instead I should embrace particular fabrics and wear
only a few exquisitly picked accessories. That would tell «the people in the know» that this woman has class.
*
While these signals are indisputable if you want to attract a certain crowd, I am not interested.
*
I say class can be attainted equally well in dressing joyful in colors, prints and bold accessories.
*
But this is not a follow-the-rules-and-thou-shalt-recieve quick fix.
*
It requires far more personality, bravery and sass than that.
*
But you are not here to fit the mould and be a people pleaser, are you ? (Besides, the colourful crowd is far more interesting).
*
Wear the colours, the prints, the accessories!
*
Let 2026 be your most joyful year so far. I’m here, rooting for you 🎉

Slow fashion vs fast fashion.

I have unfollowed a few accounts today. It was time.
*
It may cost me comments and likes. But a gal has to stand for something.
*
And this I stand for:
*
1️⃣ choosing natural fibres over synthetic fibres.
*
2️⃣ Valuing style over fashion
*
3️⃣ Buying #secondhand and swapping
*
4️⃣ Buying only what I love
*
5️⃣ Mending & #sewingmyownclothes
*
I’m still a total lover of colour, style and clothes in general - and I’ll buy the occasional low-cost item - but the way this platform has been contributing to how fashion is spiralling out of control is simply sickening.
*
“Looks” are only created to grab your attention without a second thought about #sustainability. This is the perfect environment for super-fast fashion.
*
I know this will continue - but I’m out.

My scarf-top & Gothenburg

I know you fashion girlies love your scarf-magic.
*
❌ Unpopular opinion:
To me they’re fiddly: they require a kind of tucking and pulling that exhaust me. So despite all those creative ideas, I cannot find my way around them 🫢🤯
*
But a top, THAT I can wear! So I cut a neckline, sewed in a satin band, closed the hems for sleeves, and voilà, NOW I’ll wear it 🥳
*
What surely must have been the last day of two-digit degrees this fall was spent in Gothenburg. My youngest and I improvised a trip for our fall vacation, as we’d never been.
*
Fall temps will resume (very very shortly), but as I can dress for the weather not the calendar still, I choose that.
*
Oh, and this piece is in the lovliest of silks and that really is perfect for any season 😉

Today is officially your first day of permanent employment in Norway 🥹😭

15 years ago you came to Norway for me. And even though your skills were wide ranging and solid, Norway rejected your every attempt for employment ✋🏻❌
*
So you thought long and hard.
*
You could have gone for a white-collar education to secure us, but your integrity held you from such a path, corporate and capitalism being your personal kryptonite. ☠️
*
Instead you chose interior carpentry. You had no previous experience, but of course, with your stamina, determination and sheer talent, you excelled, bit by bit❣️
*
And look at you now: Head of Production 🥹🥇🥰
*
I can’t think of anyone that deserves this more! And I couldn’t be prouder!
*

Splendido Marseille 💥

If burlesque, lush, opulence is at all your scene, The Splendido restaurant in Marseille is an absolute must!
*
My colleague and I spent an evening here, some days ago, and the atmosphere was electric!
*
That comes as a natural consequence, when you’re met by just about the most maximalistic interior I’ve ever seen ❣️
*
To top it off the service was great at the meal delicious (although the portions a bit on the small side).
*
And the restrooms: worth the visit alone ♦️♣️🃏💡♥️🪞💋🎠

Mornings til evenings in Marseille. Candy-coloured through my lense, limestone-coloured in reality.

Dotty for dots ⚪️⚫️

Another #dotty number has made it to my wardrobe. This one from @sezane has just that little extra flare (figuratively and literally speaking) that made me instantly love it.

When adding that it’s made in #organiccotton it really is the most delicious trippel win🏅🏅🏅

There’s a sea of tempting design in synthetic fibres out there, but if you’re willing to be just that little harder on yourself you’ll find all the goodness in natural fibres too.

I love my love my fashion-teacher job and don’t need incentives to keep doing so.

But needless to say, having been given the opportunity to travel to an Erasmus school, in Marseille, for my school, made me love it just that little more 🥹

Lycée Denis Diderot, has been wildly inspiring for me as a teacher - and it goes without saying: Marseille is simply a huge happy pill 💊

Diving into the blues 💙🦋🩵

Fall often falls in the red end of the colour-wheel for me. I really dislike getting stuck in a style-rut though, so that may be why this combo felt so refreshing.

You may all know by now, that I adore swimming, but dressing up in bright colours and patterns can feel almost as refreshing 🌊

Try on this blue this season - not because it’s trending - but because now you can actually get your hands on it 😉
