A few months ago my friend and professor Nick Pappas asked me personally to be a part of the first play he directs for Oxnard College. Oxnard College has never had their own theatre production program or department until now. Nick is an incredible person who I greatly admire. I am very excited to be a part of this moment as he creates this program. This semester we have been workshopping a new play by world-renowned playwright Stephen Gregg. Other than supporting Nick a second draw was that eventually when this play is published my name will be in the book as having ORIGINATED THE ROLE of tough military lady MCSLANE. 🫡 The play is a sci-fi thriller titled The Footage. I am valuing every step of this journey and it is changing me as a person. I hope you come see this moment in history for our community.
Approx run time 75 min. No intermission.

This fall I got to work for incredible costume designer and my beloved friend Abra Flores again!!! I was costume design assistant for The Ensemble Theater Company’s “The Thanksgiving Play” in Santa Barbara. I got to work alongside Erica Mings whose talent I have always greatly admired. I also worked with director Brian McDonald, who I have loved for a long time as well. I am happy to have worked at and made connections at a new theatre ✅ Plus - I love all the pre-production tasks 😝 @abritaflores @erica.the.paladin @bmcd1969 @etcsb by @hillary.rushing

A scene I wrote has been picked up for production and will be showcased in this semester’s Moorpark College One Acts.
Moorpark College puts on a great show for the One Acts!! There are two bills with different scenes on alternating nights. The scene I wrote is in Bill B. Both bills are going to be great! There are 4 nights to come see the show I wrote. Hope to see you there ❤️ 😇 🙏🏼 by @hillary.rushing

IN THE HEIGHTS (⬆️ sound check)
I have to say how much I LOVE THE PEOPLE IN THIS CAST. I saw the show again last night. The show is so beautiful. It’s mind blowing. I cry the entire time. Which I’m not necessarily known for. I think I cry because I know these people and I am so proud to see them give their all and leave it all on the stage. I love 🎶 my people 🎵 @rubicontheatre by @hillary.rushing
