Well hi 👋 Lots of new friends here this week! If you’re here because of the Ace Hardware birthday party: welcome!!! I cannot promise every day involves power tools and tiny flower pots, but apparently that’s how we all met. I’m Hillary, a Seattle-based communications person by day, mom to twin 8-year-old girls, and someone who spends an unreasonable amount of time reading, finding good food, making time for friends, randomly crafting things, and documenting the chaos. Around here you’ll find book recs, food, music, travel, random life observations, occasional home projects, peeks into my career and work adventures, and whatever else I’ve decided you all need to know about that day 😂 I’m particularly passionate about an unnecessarily specific playlist, eating my way through Seattle, and finding humor in pretty much everything. Turns out the local hardware store is the coolest place to turn 8 🌸 We celebrated Eliza + Jade at @mapleleaface, and John and his team completely brought the birthday magic. We had personalized aprons, pottery painting, planting, STEM activities and a whole lot of very happy kids ♥️ A HUGE thank you to John and the entire Maple Leaf Ace Hardware team for dreaming this up with me and making the girls feel so incredibly special. Back by popular demand: My weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. ✨ This week’s snapshot: 📕 Reading: Finished The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah on audio (ya’ll know I love a workout with an audiobook!). Absolutely captivating, completely heart-wrenching, and SO good. ☕️ Eating: Coffee + breakfast at @mcozycafe.seattle. Because a good breakfast and an even better decaf latte will always have my heart. 💍Playing: Watched Crazy Rich Asians for the first time with the twins and they were OBSESSED. They said “we love romance!” Same girls, same. 🍒 Obsessing: Shirley Temples with the gals. Something about that cherry and sparkle just makes it feel like a party. @akebono_seattle makes it perfect! 💄 Recommending: Bedazzled @dior Lip Glow. Nothing compares. Smooth lips + a little sparkle?
