My neighbours must think I’ve lost the plot. I greet the bees every time when I arrive home. It is amazing that we’ve grown this lavender from baby bushes to a plentiful crop year on year for pollinators. 🐝

Yesterday I counted four different bee varieties enjoying the lavenders, along with butterflies and other insects. 🦋

With all the fear that climate change brings, creating small ecosystems in my own garden means the world 🌍

Why are homegrown stawbs superior to shop bought?

Is it the fact that they’re the fruits of my labour (quite literally) or is it simply that they’re more flavoursome? I like to think it’s a bit of both.

My Nana used to grow little alpine strawberries in her greenhouse in Northern Ireland which were the sweetest, juiciest little fruits and I always looked forward to time alone in the greenhouse to sneak a few strawbs on the sly.

Turns out, I wasn’t a particularly stealthy child, as decades later my Nana recalled some of the crop going “missing” conveniently when I was staying.

Do I have magic roses? ✨

Unlike most of us during the heatwave, these roses are THRIVING, how glorious!

It was only last week I saved the two pink varieties from the @bandq_uk clearance shelf.

One happy customer 🌺
