My Jhalla Wallah moment with @harshkumarofficiall ✨

Mine me!! 🤌🏽

It felt AMAZING to be a student again! 🥹

Can you believe I haven’t attended a dance workshop or trained in 13 YEARS?!

This was actually one of the reasons I wanted to go back to Delhi. A little “let’s pick up where I left off” moment.

As soon as I saw the Jhalla Wallah workshop at @yellowstripedance, I knew I had to sign up!

The atmosphere was incredible. The session was SOLD OUT! 75 beautiful women, all in one room, learning, having fun and completely owning the moment. ❤️

What blew my mind was how many people turned up already knowing the routine!

A huge congratulations to @harshkumarofficiall for creating this magic. What an experience! 👏🏽

I knew @harshkumarofficiall looked familiar! Turns out, we were actually in SPB Shamak together all those years ago. 🤍 What a full-circle moment to find ourselves dancing together again after so long!

Unlike quite a few people in the room, I definitely did NOT come prepared 😂 I learnt as much of the routine as I could during the workshop, and it reminded me just how much I want to get back into training.

I genuinely think learning someone else’s choreography is a skill in itself. It’s like a muscle you have to keep working. Your brain has to process the steps, remember them, connect them to the music and then somehow get your body to do it all at once. It’s really not as easy as it looks!

As a choreographer, I’m so used to being the one creating, practising and teaching routines. But being on the other side, having to pick up someone else’s choreography, is a completely different experience.

Was I the strongest dancer in the room? Absolutely not!!! But did I have the BEST time? 100%.

And if anything, it’s made me realise how much I’ve missed being a student. I definitely want to make more time for workshops, training and learning from other dancers again

It was packed!! But everyone was so welcoming @yellowstripedance 💃🏽

I also bumped into @bhaktianand who I danced with at Shiamak SPB 13 years ago!

The moment we saw each other, all those memories came flooding back. It honestly felt like no time had passed

Couldn’t be happier attending my first dance class at @yellowstripedance in (Delhi) after 13 years!!! 🥹 And what a wonderful leap back into learning 👏🏽

So grateful to have bumped into some familiar faces from my time at @shiamakindiaofficial 🤍 Brought back so many wholesome memories @bhaktianand @harshkumarofficiall

So fortunate I get to dance, learn, travel, and meet such talented and creative individuals through @desibeatsdance 💃🏽 It felt amazing being a student! Getting to soak up some knowledge, come out of my comfort zone, getting some steps bang on while smiling through the ones I missed! It's all a part of growing and we’re GROWING AND GLOWING ✨

Hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of Old Delhi is the most beautiful, quiet little world full of art, culture and experience 🤍

Massi and I spent the loveliest few hours at @kathikaolddelhi and every part of it felt so thoughtfully created. Every corner, every room and every little detail had a story behind it.

We had a guided tour, listened to a beautiful sitar and tabla jugalbandi, watched a Kathak performance, tied on ghungroos and even got to learn some Kathak ourselves. We also tried the art of writing our names in Farsi and Urdu before sitting down for the loveliest simple meal that genuinely felt like home.

We were also lucky enough to meet Atul and David, who were both so generous and took the time to show us even more of the space and its beautitul rooms.

Such a wholesome, culturally rich experience and definitely one I'll hold close from this trip!

Came to India (Delhi) desperately needing my hair sorted and somehow left with one of the best salon experiences I’ve had 😂

My auntie booked me into @looksunisexsalon at @pacificmalldelhi and I went in mildly terrified that my “lighter but not blonde, softer but not orange, face-framing but don’t touch the back too much” instructions were going to make absolutely no sense.

Turns out, they understood the assignment.

No bleach, the soft mousy brown I wanted, exactly the shape I had in my head… and apparently my own three-person blow-dry team at one point.

Also, that head massage? I’m still thinking about it.

Delhi, you’ve set the bar dangerously high for my next haircut and colour appointment! 👏🏽
