✨ Germany Part 3 ✨ August 2026
Destination :📍 Berlin

First of all—before anyone gets the wrong idea—HE IS MY NEPHEW 😌 Just in case there are those who don’t know me or missed my daily Instagram stories with the hashtag #heismynephew 😅
This was my first trip to Berlin and our first trip together. I’d always wanted to go to Berlin, but somehow the trip never happened whenever I tried to plan it. Then my nephew, Blend, told me he was coming to Berlin from the US and asked if I wanted to join him. I said, "OK, let’s do it!" and just like that, the trip was planned and we went.
My first impression was "WOW", the city exceeded all my expectations. It’s beautiful, with its architecture, buildings, and nature—a mix of old and new structures and graffiti—plus the fascinating history that has shaped the world to this day.
I had a great time with my nephew; we got along well on most things, despite our differences 🙃 I like taking public transport and have no problem with it, whereas he prefers taking taxis pretty much everywhere 🫠 I don’t usually plan my meals, it’s mostly spontaneous, and I prefer street food. He likes street food to an extent, but also likes booking tables—preferably at a restaurant that feels "fancy" to me 🫠 I like (and want) him to take more photos of me, but he preferred taking a few of me and focusing more on the city and other things instead 😏😂
I had a really fun trip with him. After a few days in Berlin, we traveled on to Prague, where we stayed for a few days. Then we headed back to Germany to visit my sister (Blend’s aunt 🙃) in Ilvesheim; we got to eat dishes like dolma, something that made me, but especially Blend (who hadn't had it in a long time), absolutely delighted.
Thank you, Blend giyan for a wonderful trip you are a great travel companion 🙏🏽💚

✨ Germany Part 2 ✨ August 2026

Destination: 📍 Triberg Waterfalls

When my sister and I visited our sister Suham (Susu) and her family in Germany, and during our visit there we finally planned this long-awaited day trip by car.
This beautiful ‘Germany’s highest, waterfall is located in Triberg, in the Black Forest region of Baden-Württemberg. I love all kinds of waterfalls, and this one was truly impressive and beautiful to see up close 😍
It was surrounded by greenery and rocky cliffs. The climb up was tough—especially for my knees—but it was worth it.
Triberg is also home to the famous German cuckoo clocks. You should definitely go there if you have the chance.

🌸 SWEDISH MIDSUMMER 🌸

Yesterday we celebrated Swedish Midsummer, a holiday where most people gather to celebrate with family/friends/relatives etc. I am happy and grateful to be with my big family and family friends at Mona and her beautiful family who invited us to celebrate this wonderful day in their beautiful house ❤️ I missed my children so much 🥹

We celebrated, like most previous years, with food and dessert buffet (mostly Kurdish 👌🏽) as well as music and dancing, board games (and half of us watched the World Cup match). It was a fantastic day and evening to remember 😍🫶🏽
One day I wish that my beloved children, Hadeel & Noor and their mother can also be with us 🤍 taken in Stockholm, Sweden by @himoka

KURDISKA KYCKLINGSPETT MED SAFFRAN 🔥
För ungefär ett år sen, när @kronfagel sökte folk som kan laga en kycklingrätt från ett land än Sverige. Man skulle spela in ett gäng matlagnings-klipp från hela världen för Kronfågels TikTok. Jag var en av de valda och jag var så glad att jag fick det då jag tyckte det var en kul idé samt att jag fick presentera mitt vackra land Kurdistan med en god och enkel kycklingrätt.

Jag blir så glad och stolt när jag ser klippet nu, ett år senare på deras konton här på Instagram, på Facebook och TikTok (jag själv har ej TikTok 😌). Som ni ser går jag loss med att visa en del av min kurdiska kultur, inte bara genom maten utan också att ha kurdiska kläder på mig, och göra vår kurdiska Hawri sjal synlig i bakgrunden samt jag ser till att mina kurdiska deq tatueringar synas ordentligt 🤌🏼
Jag ser att jag även bjuder på den egna personliga energi jag har (jag försökte inte ens utan den går inte att dölja 😌)
men ärligt talat var jag också väldigt nervös, ska ni veta ☺️

Some of the food I cooked, that I recorded/took pictures of, during the month of March.
+ A favorite tea ✨

1. Lamb shank with cauliflower stew and my famous rice with b’nker/ crispy bread
2 & 3. A delicious salad with smashed potatoes and tahini dressing
4. Favorite oatmeal porridge with butter-fried & caramelized banana with cinnamon, cardamom and dry-roasted coconut flakes + morning coffee 😍
5. Pan fried salmon with super tasty mixed beans in ajvar sauce
6. Homemade bread topped with ajvar, za’atar, cheese, parsley, onion and some spices
7. Bought fries at the nearby street food restaurant topped with homemade small meatballs marinated in a sauce with a wild onion flavor
8. Oatmeal porridge with a new favorite flavor reminiscent of paklawa, with lightly roasted walnuts & pistachios in saffron honey + cardamom and cinnamon 🔥
9. Fried potato balls made from leftover cooked rice and potatoes, filled with cheese + dipping sauce
10. A favorite Thai tea with mango that my niece bought for me during her trip in Thailand. I love it and I am not a ”tea drinker”. Where can I buy it in Stockholm/ Sweden? 🥹
