The Spray takes odor out of fabric rather than covering it, and the cypress scent fades in a few seconds.

The sofa holds onto a weekend: coffee, cooking, someone’s coat thrown over the arm. A few sprays over the cushions take the odor out, and the cypress scent fades soon after.

The Spray bottle is meant to stay. When it runs low, The Spray Refill fills it back up, and the refill uses far less plastic than a new bottle would.
What goes inside stays the same: Jeju Hinoki Cypress water, steam-distilled from pruning byproducts. A deodorizer for fabrics and spaces that removes odor rather than masking it.

Two Ashtanga yoga retreats this summer. We sent The Hand Balm, The Hand Wash and The Spray to @kinoyoga’s retreats at @miamilifecenter in Miami and at @welcomehomeyoga in Detroit.

Two hours on the mat, and hands know it first. Gripping, pressing, holding weight. The balm goes where the work happened: across the knuckles, around the nail beds, into the heel of the palm that pressed into the mat.

When practice ends, the scent of Jeju Hinoki Cypress is what stays with you. Cool and green, and restorative.

Hinok is heading to Tokyo. 🌲☁️
From September 30th to October 6th, we are thrilled to bring the essence of Jeju Island to Japan for a special pop-up at Isetan in Tokyo.
We’ll be sharing our daily rituals of nature, featuring our signature upcycled Jeju cypress deodorizing water, ‘The Spray,’ alongside our ‘Calm & Balance Room Spray’ and ‘Hyangnang’ (scented sachets).
Bringing the wind, forests, and everyday rituals of Jeju across the globe. If you happen to be in Tokyo, we invite you to stop by and bring a piece of the Jeju forest home with you. by @hinok.us

Hanji, or Korean mulberry paper, is far more than a simple writing surface; its extraordinary durability and versatility allow it to be transformed into art pieces with complex textures. The strong natural fibers can be woven to create structured, highly textured sheets. It also beautifully absorbs dyes to create rich, varied gradients of plum, gold, and indigo. These multipurpose papers were used to cover or decorate everyday objects from furniture to windows and plates.
Just as hanji once brought the strength and breathability of nature into traditional homes, we hope to bring that same harmony into your modern spaces.

Field Notes / Big Sur, California

Big Sur is a dramatic landscape defined by its breathtaking scale 🌊🌲 Here, towering redwoods stand in ancient groves, rooting themselves into steep cliffs that plunge directly into the churning Pacific. The coastal mist catches the soft pink hues of twilight, washing over the deep blue waters and weathered ridges with a profound stillness.
Standing amidst this monumental collision of forest and sea offers a powerful reminder to simply pause and breathe at nature’s pace.

We wanted to hear from the people actually living with The Hand Wash, so we gathered a few of their notes.

The curve of a hanok roof is not decoration. The eave is set so high summer sun stops at the edge of the floor and low winter sun reaches all the way inside.
