Senggarang. People say it’s the oldest Chinese village in Bintan, left behind and almost forgotten. Yet, its colors and that special spark have never really faded. At dawn, their little market comes alive. From the market square all the way down the heritage stone streets left behind by Panglima Tan, you’ll still see the elders selling dingkis fish and playing dominoes. Life on the wooden boardwalks feels quieter, more beautiful, and you can still find a few old industries running on ancient technology. It feels as if the village is telling me that experience and heart create consistency, and that's the very energy keeping this old place alive.That’s my color. . Beberapa bulan lagi akan mmemasuki musim angin utara. Angin utara di wilayah pesisir Melayu bertiup lebih kencang dan stabil. Kondisi itu ideal untuk mengadu kecepatan Jong.Laju Jong, permainan rakyat di pesisir Kepulauan Riau, dimainkan saat waktu senggang atau pesta laut. Jong adalah perahu miniatur yang dibuat mirip dengan kapal sungguhan, lengkap dengan layar, dan diperlombakan dengan hanya mengandalkan angin.Musim angin utara sering bertepatan dengan pesta laut atau kegiatan adat, Laju Jong menjadi bagian dari perayaan bersama. Di beberapa daerah, Laju Jong dianggap bukan sekadar permainan, tapi juga ritual syukur laut, merayakan hasil tangkapan nelayan, sekaligus mempererat kebersamaan masyarakat pesisir.“Kapan lagi ada Laju Jong?” tanyaku pada salah satu kawanku, seorang warga di Pulau Bintan.“Tanggal 15, Pakde”“Tak lagi ke Bintan, Pakde?”“Gas laaaa, nanti awak bawa jalan,” katanyaDengan segenap hati, kupanjatkan pandanganku ke sana.
