It’s been just over a week since we were honored with the incredible distinction of being named the number one bar in India—a milestone that feels both surreal and deeply humbling.

The journey of Lair has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. From the very beginning, we faced challenges that tested our resilience. We lost out on our dream location and had to settle for what seemed like the second-best—though, in hindsight, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We endured heartbreak, losing one of our senior chefs in a tragic accident, and faced the uncertainty of the Covid pandemic. There were moments when the odds seemed stacked against us, but somehow, amidst the chaos, things began to align in the most unexpected ways.

Building Lair has been an adventure I could never have imagined. As any entrepreneur knows, building a team is one of the hardest challenges, and even harder is earning their belief in your vision. What started as an audacious dream became the foundation of our resilience post-Covid. Honestly, there were days we weren’t entirely sure what we were doing. But what carried us forward was a shared madness—a collective drive of talented, passionate people who wanted to challenge the status quo. From our branding partner to our architect to our incredible colleagues from each department, everyone threw themselves into something new, something wild, something that had never been attempted before. Together, we formed a kind of unspoken connection, a shared purpose that kept us going.

I am profoundly grateful to my parents and family, my close friends, and every single person who has been a part of Lair’s story—both past and present. Every one of you has poured your heart, your time, and your energy into making Lair what it is today. This milestone belongs to you.

This one is truly for the TEAM—the people who embody the soul of Lair, who have stood by this dream and made it their own. Words will never be enough to express the depth of my gratitude, but I hope you know how much it means to me.
