After four years of hard work and collaboration, I’m thrilled to share the launch of a Black Studies Certificate Program — the first of its kind at the college level in Canada — coming this September to Centennial College.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of leading an incredible team of professors in developing a capstone course “The Contemporary State of Blackness in Canada” — a deep dive into representation, culture, and lived experiences across this country.
This certificate program I hope will become a community legacy for years to come. I'll be sharing more once it launches.

Now about this image!

I asked Chat GPT based on some chats Ive had to describe me, make it catchy and use a photo I'd provided here is what it came up with!
Culture Curator.
History Hunter.
Story Sharper.
"You’ve got a keen eye for under-told stories and a drive to spotlight Black excellence especially in the Canadian context. Whether you're crafting bios, building educational content, or refining references with precision, you're all about accuracy and impact. Sharp with questions, bold with curiosity, and never afraid to dig deep into culture, into legacy, and ultimately into representation. Basically? You’re the creative behind the curtain, making sure history doesn’t miss a beat in Canada."

A Luta Continua!
More details coming in September.
Stay tuned.

I truly had fun this trip to #Vancouver, Surrey BC,
I got to room with my old friend Julian Carr , I got to see my cousins, aunt and uncle who I hadn't see in a while, ( Justin Jerome Chance,) I scouted 5 players on the boys side and one on the girls side. We are hopeful to get one from each. Had a really good conversation with the one player of interest and his dad. Had a few follow up convos with players as they had lots of questions for me. We spent some time between games doing video reviews and I showed them about total football and educating them on styles of play, Johan Cryuff, Dutch orange, Ajax, Manchester United, Sir Alex Furgeuson, Rene Meulenstien and the foundations of modern football. I encouraged them to play total football. By the forth and last game we had the central mid playing left back, the winger playing mid and the striker on the winger and we had attacks from the centre back where he almost had two goals just barley missing both chances. As we had beaten the team we were playing for the last game 2-0 prior, we went down a couple goals but we came back to win the game 3-2. Who says showcasing is not also about winning and showing how to ball out and show out. In the end three of the players from the team won the MVP's of the tournament showcase, top striker, goalie and defender. Call it luck, call it a talented group call it whatever. I'm just glad to have had the opportunity to guide, impart wisdom, challenge thinking, give direction and show them how to play at the adult men's level rather than the youth level.

Fast, front foot, football! High intensity from the warm up to the game. High pressure, people shifting and changing postions, denying the other team the opportunities to play. It was fun.
This was a great group of boys.
