🇺🇸 Everything you need to know about rigging the assist hook on the Polaris Drifter 177: which hook to use, the required distance, and the positioning of the additional hook.

It’s NOT something we consider necessary far from it and the vast majority of the time we don’t even use it; however, in case any of you find yourselves in a situation where you do need it, here is a video that clearly explains how to set it up!

We have tried to explain all the key details; That said, it is important to follow the instructions precisely to create a perfect rig that ensures the lure performs correctly. As a final note, the braid used is slightly thinner than the main line so that, should we get snagged and have to break off, we don't lose the lure furthermore, we never leave it under tension, to ensure the joint remains completely free.. We also use very fine, sharp treble hooks that don't add excess weight—which would affect the lure's balance—ensuring that even the slightest contact with a fish results in a successful hookup.

🇪🇸 Aquí tienes todo lo que necesitas saber sobre cómo montar el anzuelo auxiliar (*assist hook*) en el Polaris Drifter 177: qué anzuelo utilizar, la distancia necesaria y la ubicación del anzuelo adicional.

No es algo que consideremos necesario —ni mucho menos— y la gran mayoría de las veces ni siquiera lo utilizamos; sin embargo, por si alguna vez te encuentras en una situación en la que sí lo necesites, ¡aquí tienes un vídeo que explica claramente cómo montarlo!

Hemos intentado explicar todos los detalles clave; dicho esto, es importante seguir las instrucciones al pie de la letra para lograr un montaje perfecto que garantice el correcto funcionamiento del señuelo. Como nota final, el trenzado utilizado es ligeramente más fino que la línea principal para que, en caso de enganche y rotura inevitable, no perdamos el señuelo y además nunca lo dejamos tenso, para facilitar que la articulación esté totalmente libre. También empleamos triples muy finos y afilados que no añaden un peso excesivo —lo cual afectaría al equilibrio del señuelo—, asegurando así que incluso el contacto más leve con un pez resulte una clavada efectiva. by @hispanolures

Los bajos de línea de fluocarbono en diámetros altos, suelen matar la acción de los glides blandos, pero nosotros, no queremos renunciar ni a nuestras capturas ni al máximo movimiento óptimo del señuelo, por eso, este es nuestro montaje / how-to cuando combinamos Drifter y lucios en el mismo escenario, algo simple, pero sobre todo, muy efectivo!

Bajo de acero o Steel leader acabado en una anilla cerrada o Solid ring para unirlo directamente a tu bajo original o línea principal, unos 30cm aproximadamente para dejar actuar al sistema line-thru y en cuanto a diámetros nosotros solemos utilizar en torno a 0,30-0,40mm…fácil y útil ! ✍🏻🙏🏼

Thick-diameter fluorocarbon leaders tend to kill the action of soft gliders, but we don’t want to sacrifice either our catches or the lure’s optimal movement. That’s why this is our setup/how-to when we combine the Drifter with pike in the same scenario—something simple, but above all, very effective!

A steel leader finished with a solid ring to attach it directly to your original leader or main line—about 30 cm long to let the line-thru system work. As for diameter, we usually use around 0.30 mm… easy and useful!✍🏻🙏🏼

The Hispano Lures Polaris Drifter 177 is a 177 mm floating soft glidebait for pike, zander, perch and black bass. Its jointed two-section body glides from side to side with a natural, silent action, and when you pause the retrieve it slowly rises back up. That rise is what makes it work on days when predators follow but feed very slowly.

Like the Polaris, the Drifter has a leader-through system, so you can rig the treble on the back or on the belly of the lure, and the hook is detachable to protect the body. Because it floats, you can work it slowly just over weed beds and snags, or let it drift up away from cover between pulls. The eye under the chin lets you add extra weight when you want to fish it deeper. At 2 oz it casts well on a medium to heavy swimbait setup.

Where the Polaris 147 and 167 are paddle tail swimbaits that thump through the water, the Drifter has a forked tail and a slower, wider glide. Pick the Polaris when you want vibration and steady searching, the Drifter when the fish want something calm and natural. by @hispanolures

Absolutely wild C2C on @hispanolures Drifter Soft Glide

Was very fortunate to get the opportunity to test out the Hispano Drifter out here in the US and this was my first fish on it.

As with most soft glides, the Drifter certainly requires a bit more finesse and feel to get it to swim the way it was intended. In simple terms it could be looked at as a more advanced glide bait. It took me a while to really develop the feel for it but it has quickly turned into my favorite glide to fish because it simply gets bit.

The line thru system on the Drifter absolutely saved me in this instance. Thought without a doubt that fish was coming off but luckily she couldn't gain any leverage to throw the bait.

By far one of the most memorable fish catches I've had. This was only my second fish on the paddleboard so forgive the beginner mistakes 🫠
