End of March we organized a writing camp in partnership with @jypentertainment, to write for their roster. With releases in the pipeline, this camp has proven to be a success and we’re excited to plan the next one, more about that soon.. In September, we brought together 50+ producers, songwriters and artists from South Korea 🇰🇷 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱 for a week full of K-pop writing sessions, networking and inspiration.

The result? New connections, fresh songs and a stronger bridge between both music industries. 💙

🇰🇷🇳🇱 Last week, we held the biggest K-Pop camp in Amsterdam to date! With 50 writers from both South Korea and the Netherlands we organized four days of writing, resulting in 33 amazing songs. The camp was organized by HIT BY THE WINDMILL, BumaStemra and Dutch Music Export .

A big thanks to Elijah and Joseph at CTGA for bringing top talent to Amsterdam and trusting us with this process.

Thanks to Daan Determeijer and Bob Out from BumaStemra for believing in our vision and bringing Korea Music Copyright Association on board. And thanks to Cruise Control Studios, Armada Music Publishing and Wisseloord Studios for being a great hosts this week.

HIT BY THE WINDMILL is an initiative by Bobby Sukhraj and Thomas De Raad, with the goal of building a modern infrastructure for creators in a new and evolving world, while bringing the Asian markets closer to the Netherlands. taken in Cruise Control Studios by @hitbythewindmill

Are you a songwriter, producer, or topliner interested in writing for the international K-pop market? As part of Connecting Sounds, we’re opening applications for the K-pop Writing Sessions in Amsterdam, happening from September 1–4. Spots are limited, so apply soon through the link in bio!

In addition to the writing sessions, the Connecting Sounds Insight Day will take place on September 5. This event is open to everyone interested in K-pop and will feature panels, discussions, and a networking drink, focused on building bridges between Amsterdam and Seoul in the K-pop industry.

Vorige maand vertrokken zeven Nederlandse schrijvers en producers op een creatieve missie naar Seoul, om daar samen te werken met de meest invloedrijke muzieklabels en uitgevers van Zuid-Korea. De week stond volledig in het teken van het schrijven van songs voor de populairste K-Pop artiesten van dit moment. Naast de studiosessies, met Koreaanse producers en songwriters bestond het programma uit culturele uitwisselingen, een bezoek aan de Nederlandse ambassade en diverse netwerkmomenten.
